Always hoping for a resurgence of this once glorious market... if more people would go on a regular basis, more vendors would open. I traditionally go Christmas and Easter, but randomly stop in as the meats at Petar Lupus are still the best imho. Beer and regular horseradish is best you can find locally also. Had a delicious breakfast inside - fresh ingredients and made with love! The management should take a trip to the Philadelphia market and take some lessons....

Broadway Market has been around for over a hundred years. It is located in an old warehouse area that is actually several old truck terminals that have been reused as large wholesale gorcery shops that just happen to be open to the public on a daly basis. Locals go here for the very same cheese, sausage and locally made staples that the restaurants in Buffalo serve. Prices here will make Wal-Mart blush and if one is buying in bulk for a party it is the ONLY place to go in Buffalo for anything including local favorites.

The Farmer's Market is across the street and is locally famous during Easter and other summer holidays for food, handicrafts and dairy products. Weekends bring out local farmers to sell their produce at prices below anything available in any store but the fresh produce shopping is slim on week days.

The area is a bit down at the heels but is perfectly safe during the day. People looking for "Marketplaces" such as the waterfront in Baltimore or Pier 39 in San Fancisco will be disappointed here as there are no street jugglers or musicians. Broadway Market is a Market and exists soley to bring inexpensive quality food to the people of Buffalo at the lowest prices possible. If one wants entertainment, one should go elsewhere.

Don't let the surrounding area scare you off. It's in a somewhat run down area, but the market is charming and provides ample parking. I've never had a problem in the many times I've visited. The meat shops are fantastic and offer top notch products at great prices. On weekends and holidays, the bakeries provide some of the best baked goods around. It's great to go and see all of the old timers hanging out and having coffee. This place is a local landmark; just try getting in during Easter or Christmas week! The selection of quality products is astounding and the crowd is lively and uniquely Buffalo.

Great vendors. Wonderful mix of foods and gift/home decor items. The horseradish is fresh and HOT and the Polish pastries are fantastic. When we visit, from Virginia, we bring a cooler so that we can bring fresh sausage back with us. And did I mention butter lambies?

This is a great disappointment. Once a thriving market, the historic property has been long demolished. There are some hints of old market with a scattering of traditional vendors. The flea market stuff adds nothing but cheapens it. If you want to REALLY see what we have lost in Buffalo, visit the WESTSIDE MARKET in Cleveland. Totally different, well worth the effort of a visit. Cleveland made the right choices with their 19th C market, Buffalo did not. Sad thing

An old-school market with great vendors of unique Buffalo food. Make sure to get some horseradish, and stock up on butter lambs at Easter.

Very popular during Christmas and Easter, but well worth the trip anyday for unique flavours of Buffalo!

The market continues to disappoint. Now in Covid world the number of vendors are down to around 10. The place is dirty and it stinks. Sad!

I had heard about the Market for some time but had not ventured to try it. So glad I did this week! It was jam packed, but overall people were polite and moved in an orderly fashion. (Being so crowded, it can be difficult to see things in the booths but people will let you look if you are polite.)

I wanted to buy everything! There were booths full of molded chocolates in Easter-y forms from bunnies to eggs. There were hand painted wooden eggs, funny T-shirts with Polish themes, miles of kielbasa and fresh sausage for sale, and pierogis, pastries and paskhas.

A polka band was playing and there were old ladies and children dancing; it was wonderful!

There was an Easter Bunny for the kids to get their pictures taken.

You can grab a bite to eat there as well, because they had a couple of deli counters that were serving Polish food.

The police had the street closed in front to make it easy for people to get in and out.

It was a great experience, and lots of fun.

I used to be negative about this modern replacement of a historic market

Yesterday we went with my elderly mother who absolutely loved it

Much CHRISTMAS celebration (and yes they all said "Merry Christmas").

Incredibly there was a live 15 piece band playing old favorites. THEY WERE GREAT. Seniors dancing like they were youngsters

The traditional bakery and meat sellers had all the traditional Polish offerings. My wife told me in the 50s she would take a bus with her Polish grandmother all the way from Dunkirk just to go here. Nice to know.

Lots of nice folks. Great time.

I have seen my past error about this place. GIVE IT A TRY🇺🇸
