    A true gem in Flagstaff
There is much within these two small buildings whether you are a traveler or a local. They blend Flagstaff and Arizona history with world history highlighting General Tuthill and the regiment that will eventually be named the Bushmasters. If you like to read, they have you covered; if you like to see actual artifacts, they have you covered as well. The collection is constantly being added to; you can see the knowledge, commitment, and passion in the volunteers. A true gem housed within unassuming former Army buildings.
Thank you for the review and for visiting the museum. Please tell your friends/family to stop by when they’re in town. Thanks again.

My wife and I were very impressed with the Fort Tuthill Military Museum. The wide range of artifacts pertaining to the 158th Infantry Regiment (Bushmasters) and the knowledge of the subject matter by James was outstanding. Beginning with the Apache wars of the mid 1800s, progressing up to our most recent conflicts the museum illustrates the contributions of Arizona and it's citizens in our Nations military actions. I have read extensively on US Military History, but I learned a lot from our host. I highly recommend visiting this Museum.

    Flagstaff hidden gem
We were camping at Fort Tuthill with my daughter’s scout troop, and saw this museum. We weren’t sure what to expect, but it was really incredible. There’s so much to explore and the displays were so fascinating. We went later and didn’t get to see it all, so will definitely be back. I think we easily spent an hour there. The volunteer was extremely knowledgeable and very engaging. Even our 13 year old really got into it.

    A Great Little Museum
My husband and I happened upon this nice little museum as we were passing through Flagstaff. Even though the museum was still closed for the season, We were welcomed in by two volunteers who were getting ready for the opening on Memorial Day. James Denton and another veteran spent over an hour with us telling stories and showing us special displays around the museum. It is a wonderful tribute to the 158th Infantry Regiment "Bushmasters" from early Arizona history. We really enjoyed our visit. It is worth a stop, for sure.

Being able to see the great collection of war memorabilia they have collected for the museum. Also being able to talk extensively with the gentleman that runs the museum was a big plus. He was exceptionally knowledgeable about the various artifacts and about the military unit that was based at the facility. Wished we would have had more time to spend there.

The museum was actually closed for the season but we were unaware that it was until we reached the entrance. James Denton, the museum’s president, happened to be there and gave us an fascinating tour anyway. James is an excellent docent, relaying many interesting military stories and historical accounts. The museum is a hidden gem, full of military artifacts and beautifully designed. All of the military barracks remain in tact and the museum is housed in two of these structures. A definite must-see if in Flagstaff!

This museum is a fabulous experience for local and state military history. My husband and I visited shortly after the reopening (from covid) and got a wonderful guided tour. Even if you aren't a history buff this museum will interest you. Totally run on volunteers and donations but you wouldn't know it because it is beautiful and high quality work!
