Enjoy nature hikes, walking, running, bicycling, or in-line skating along the 12 miles of riverside trails which consist of the Stones River, Lytle Creek and Gateway trails. Small watercraft access points are also available for paddlers to enjoy the Stones River. The Murfreesboro Greenway System connects historical sites, parks, neighborhoods and businesses; it also serves as a conservation corridor to preserve precious natural and cultural resources. Eleven trailheads provide access to the Murfreesboro Greenway System.

Thank you, tax dollars, for the Stones River Greenway!!!! Great for dog-walking, cycling, roller-blading, or jogging, the greenway is a haven for birds, a protected area for Tennessee flora, and a treasure for Rutherford County.

A great place to ride a bike with the kids, take a long or short walk, sit by the river, or whatever floats your boat. Its lengthy and give you a great view of nature.

A beautiful addition to Murfreesboro and a great healthy get away. Take a long stroll like i did from the Bragg trailhead to the Thompson trailhead (about 2 miles one way, 2 hours total) and get some good history with the battle of Stones River....More

I go to the Greenway all the time, and it's beautiful every single time I go. I've biked and walked the trails and it's serene, well-kept and beautiful. The waterways are gorgeous, and on summer days it's nice to splash around by the small waterfalls.

The river was a little low this particular day because of lack of rain but it's still a beautiful trail to walk or ride a bike. Springtime is the best when the flowers are blooming, the butterflies and caterpillars are out. Great way to spend...More

I believe they close 30 minutes before sunset everyday. To be honest, I do not really remember any waterfalls, but if you do want to see some waterfalls, you should go to Fall Creek Falls or Burgess Falls.
