Stunning and gorgeous views

Not sure if the lake is more beautiful in the fall or winter but year round this place is a quiet spot to relax and. Enjoy!

Geat Walk with No Dogs
Jan 2021
A great place to walk and pleased that no dogs are allowed. Not a dog hater, but they seem to be acquiring more rights than people. Not everyone loves dogs - and my wife and myself have each been bitten by "friendly" dogs - one of which was on a leash!

Lake Scranton
Oct 2020 • Friends
Lake Scranton is a beautiful location to visit. The patch is very clean, patrolled by security and miles long. The lake is surrounded by woodland which makes it great to witness all sorts of critters. Unfortunately dogs, bikes, rollerblades and anything motorized is not allowed on the premises. There is also a large lookout point which is very scenic!
I featured this lake in a vlog on my YouTube channel

Very Scenic, And Unwelcoming
Aug 2020 • Friends
Easy 3.5mi mostly paved trail around Lake Scranton with scenic vistas. Owned by American Water PA the trail has many rules and restrictions. Am Water needs to update signs for ADA. Was berated by several trail users who sought to enforce these rules reminding me of the No Pet signs while having my service dog with me. One was persistent and only stopped when I asked for her identification. While the Security Guard had no issue Am Water needs to update signage or assume liability for violations by their visitors on their behalf.

Security was rude. Trying to practice social distancing, was told can only use 3 feet of trail.have 20 feet of space!!! Confined to three feet.

Not safe. Do not park in designated parking area.
Nov 2019
Had a beautiful walk around the lake only to find the car window smashed and my wallet stolen when we were done. No security in the parking area, no cameras and this happened with about 15 other cars in the parking area at 2 pm

Beautiful Trail Around the Lake
Oct 2019
Easy to find path around a lovely lake. We parked at fire station #10 and walked to the path entrance, then around to the dam, which provides a great view. We walked back, which was maybe 1.5 miles total. Easy walking and lots of hellos from fellow walkers.

Great place

Beautiful path to walk, run or relax on benches. Gorgeous scenery every season. Frequently deer on path. Plenty of parking.

Great walking or running path and views
Jul 2019
I walked this pathway after a work day and found the views of the lake very relaxing and was able to clear my mind while getting in some exercise. Its so close to Scranton, and yet you feel like you stepped into the mountains. I only crossed paths with four other walkers/joggers and so it truly felt like I had the place to myself.

Nice, quiet nature walk
Jul 2019 • Family
We went to the path just after they reopened from reconstructing the tornado damage. The path is beautiful, quiet, and mostly shaded. It is a great place to go for a family walk away from the roads. However, strollers and wheelchairs are very difficult to get on the path from most parking areas.
