Very beautiful, quiet area high above Scranton, PA. Walking , running, jogging is permitted but no bikes, no skaters. It is a very popular photo stop for bridal parties & grooms. Presently it is limited use due to storm damage & downed trees from our last winter storms. Clean up is not yet completed & it's not safe right now

This path is (if I remember rightly) about 3 miles, no difficult slopes. It surrounds the largest reservoir in the area so it is almost completely through forest, pine mostly. You frequently encounter deer at the sides of the trail. It's almost IN downtown Scranton and really close to some great restaurants. Good parking also.

This is my go-to for running while here. As of mid-may, still closed bc they are being precise about clearing the hanging limbs and branches (from the tornado damage) from the trees before they let anyone on. If its open when you get here, it is worth it. Go near dusk, see many animals.

The walkway around Lake Scranton is just over 3 miles long. It winds around the Lake, over the dam and is safe and secure as there are many people also walking daily. Recently, there was a tornado in the area and it has been closed due to downed trees but I hear it's about to open again.

We stayed in Wilkes-barre and decided to spend one day in Scranton. This place had great reviews - so we decided to give it a try. When we got there the gate was closed. There was a car parked behind the gate. The gentleman in the car told us that the place is closed for renovation due to some recent... More

My fiancée & I love our walks at Lake Scranton! So gorgeous & serene.... unfortunately they do not allow pets. That is the only downside... if that changed I would rate it 5 stars.

Be alert, deer in the woods. Fresh air, no vehicle traffic, no loud music, set your own walking or running pace. And it is free !!!!

It is a beautiful wooded area with a paved path around Lake Scranton. There is a parking lot. It is a reservoir so you can not go in the lake.
