When we arrived in Sitka (August 2020) we ran direct into a major blow 35 -55 Knots. The first day on the water was a total bust. Staff came into our room that evening asking if they could comp us a night and extend our trip an extra day. We said yes, but unbeknown to us we had to move to a hotel downtown that last night and then we found out that the extra night would be on us to a toon of $ 400.00! Then , we found out that we would NOT be allowed to return for any future trips after we had questioned all the extra expenses. We have fished with AnglingUnlimited for years and never been treated with such an attitude. “ Tom and Chuck advertise that they AU build their reputation on return customers who return year after year!” This is devinitely not the case for this year!

2020 update: Fishing in the era of Covid and STILL the best experience we could hope for. The AU team made traveling easy and provided us with a safe experience. The state of Alaska requires a negative covid test taken within 72 hours of departure. My state (yes, state) was out of rapid tests, and I learned this 5 days prior to departure. The AU team stepped up big time and was able to get tests sent to us so that we could get the results prior to boarding our flight. The fishing experience was amazing, and everyone made us feel safe and cared for. These guys are awesome!

I have been fishing with Angling Unlimited for many years, but wanted to write a review after fishing this July. It's always been easy and convenient to book a trip with the help from Kim in their reservation office, but this year with COVID it was very different. AU set up a COVID testing program with a private lab to test and get my group results in 24 hours so we could enter Alaska. Carly the office manager in Sitka was very helpful in coordinating the testing for all four of us. As is normal, one of their hostesses picked us up at the airport. This year our hostess was Colleen and she did a great job of taking care of us throughout our trip. I have always loved the fact that each unit you stay in has a kitchen and outside BBQ, but this year it was especially appreciated with the virus issues. This year I fished with two of my sons and a friend who have never before fished Alaska. They all had a fantastic experience fishing and so did I. Captain James and deckhand Micah are two of the hardest working guys in the business. They took great care of us for all three fishing days getting us on king salmon, halibut, lingcod and rockfish. The silvers were late this year, but we did get some. AU has always provided very memorable fishing trips, but this one was special just because of the issues we had with COVID. Eating and walking around town was very different with the lack of people and cruise ships, but it was still a great experience and AU helped make this happen. We appreciate all that AU did to keep our trip a fun and enjoyable time. Thanks again AU !!

My dad and I booked a 3 day fishing trip with Angling Unlimited starting on July 22, 2020. The process began with corresponding with Kim who was extremely helpful and promptly responded to all my questions--since this was our first time fishing in Sitka we had A LOT of questions. Honestly, her quick and informative responses is what made me go with Angling Unlimited over a couple of the other outfitters I inquired with. My Husband and his dad wanted to come with us to Alaska but didn't want to go on the ocean (they are very prone to seasickness) but Kim was great accommodating them at the lodge with us as "non-fishers." We were also very grateful that Kim and Carly got us all set up with the at-home COVID tests. They were super easy to take and we got our results back within 24 hours which made our trip go very smoothly. Once we arrived in Sitka, Ellie our hostess was waiting for us at the airport and took us right to the lodge. Our room (Suite 5) was spacious, clean and comfortable for all four of us. Now, for the actual fishing. WOW!!!!!! I can't say enough great things about our Captain, Tom and Deckhand, Tyler. I have fished quite a bit but this was my first multi-day trip on the ocean. Tom and Tyler gave me some great pointers and were patient until I got the hang of it. As a newbie and the only girl on the boat I was so appreciative of them making me feel comfortable. Tom was extremely experienced and sure knew were to to find the fish. He was also great at keeping us all safe on the last day when we experienced some pretty rough seas! Tyler was one of the hardest working guys I have ever met--always ready to refresh our bait, net our fish and make us some delicious sandwiches. I honestly lost count of how many fish I caught but I got my limit of Kings over the course of the three days, halibut and rock fish were plentiful and we completely slayed the Silvers on the last day. Thank you for an unforgettable trip, Tom, Tyler and the whole Angling Unlimited team!!

After decades of Alaska Fishing from Tik Chik Narrows Lodge to the Kenai, Kasilof and King Salmon rivers to the southern most part of Kodiak Island - One and only one organization/outfitter stands-out - ANGLING UNLIMITED, located in Sitka, Alaska. There is not a single phase or component of this group's organization that is left unmeasured - the various options regarding fishing packages, lodging, additional tour/hiking guidance for those who would like to "Take a Walk in the Woods & Mountains", etc... Bottom Line for 2019 is this: My two fishing teams of 4 per trip, checked-in at the airport with TWENTY 50lb boxes of fresh individually-packaged fish: 15 Chinook Salmon (KIngs), 74 Coho (Silvers), 29 Halibut, 17 Black Cod (Sablefish/Butterfish), plus dozens of great sized Black Rockfish, along with some Ling Cod and Yellow Eye. The enjoyment is so grand that I am adding another trip in July in 2020. My fishing team mates are super individuals and to top that off, the owners, captains, deck hands, fish processors, hostesses and lodge manager make up a Top Drawer Adventure for all. If you can find an open spot - come join me sometime.
