This was the main thing I wanted to experience in Luray. We took binoculars and one camera (for the murals along the walk). Flowers were out. And so were the mallards, sleeping with their heads under their wings. The walk was easy even for out-of-shape people. Well marked. There was never any question which direction to go even when crossing a road. The highlight of our walk was stumbling upon a black-crowned night hawk who had just caught a catfish and was fighting to orient it properly for swallowing. Other night hawks flew over to claim possession to no avail. She flew up into a tree with it to struggle again. Although we watched for over 20 minutes, we saw the triumph. Our eyes got too cross eyed from looking through the binoculars. The only negative comment I have is that none of the bikers ever gave any warning that they were approaching from behind. If we had stepped to the left, we would have been hit a number of time.

A beautiful paved walking trail. We took a nice walk on the trail after dinner and enjoyed the view of the creek and nature.

We love this place. There is a great stream running along its length, it is easily accessible with plenty of parking and the wildlife is abundant.
We saw lots of herons, indigo buntings and ducks. We also saw a muskrat in the water which was a nice treat.
The pathways are easily accessible and not at all strenuous and a lot of it is in the shade so you can escape the summer heat.

This is a beautiful, well maintained walkway along a stream and through naturalized areas bisecting the mainstreet of Luray, VA. Its 2 miles long and provides a wonderful nature walk whenever you feel like taking a break from riding in the car. You can get lunc at a local restaurant and sit on one of the benches and eat during nice weather.

It's a used trail far from pristine. Trash on the trail dog bags left old ones. Spitting dog bags behind logs is not picking up after dog. Otherwise nice trail minimum challenge for Drs.

We felt very safe walking the beautiful green way. All paved and mostly by a creek. The sound of the water was very peaceful

This is a lovely, easy and picturesque walking and biking trail that allows locals and visitors to get some exercise in a safe and pretty environment. Mileage markings could be better, but other than that, it's a pleasant area to see wild life and meet nice people.

he Greenway is located along the Hawksbill and runs from the North end to the South end of Luray. Bring your camera to capture all the beauty and wildlife like Ducks, Geese and fish. There are several resting areas where you can sit and take in all the beauty the Hawksbill Creek has to offer. You can even try your luck at Trout Fishing or maybe a jog or maybe you just want a relaxing walk. It is a must see when visiting Luray.

This is a beautiful well maintained park with a linear trail which is shared by bikers and walkers. There is a creak running parallel to it. We visited this park during our visit to Luray caverns. My kids just went into the creak wetting their feet in the morning watching ducklings.

What is the distance from one end to the other?

Hello, we were only visiting the area but I did not see any where that rented bikes. I would check with the Luray visitor center, they may have more information. Take care!

It's free and a nice flat walk for kids. Plenty of water birds and fish for them to see. Bring water shoes as there are places to wade.

There are six different parking lots and entrances along the walkway. You can go to their website for a map showing locations. If you don't start at the end, I suggest using the parking lot just behind main street off of S Hawksbill St.
