Go ahead, get carried away...at Bear Mountain Ziplines in Luray, VA. Our Mama Bear Zipline tour includes 7 ziplines, for a total of 2700 ft of line racing through the forest canopy at up to 35 miles an hour. The last 1000 ft stretch brings you out over a meadow to land on the tower above our 3-story Bear Scramble climbing wall. Your trip starts with a rustic ride up a mountain road behind the tractor, where you’ll get comfortable with the zipline safety gear and procedures on the training zipline. Our professional guides have all been trained according to Association of Challenge Course (ACCT) requirements. We can confidently offer a safe as well as invigorating experience. We also offer a Bear Scramble climbing wall. Scramble up our 3-story climbing wall to ring the bell at the top. Our wall has multiple ascent paths and accommodates two climbers at a time, so you can come with a group and race your friends to the top! Access to the wall is available in half-hour increments, giving users many chances to improve their times, or try out a trickier path up. We use a state-of-the-art auto-belay system, allowing climbers to use the wall unassisted and rappel down under supervision by our certified guides. Please note that participants must weigh between 70 and 250 lbs and be at least 8 years of age to participate in the Mama Bear Zipline tour. The Bear Scramble can accommodate guests who weigh between 50 and 300 lbs.

We stopped by after seeing a brochure at Luray Caverns, but they were sold out for the day. We still stayed and talked with the owners (a lovely couple!) and they said to stay and see if everyone showed up who was booked for the next, and last of the day, session. Another couple stopped by on a whim also... More

Had a fabulous time! Great instruction & conversation. Luray is our vacation spot away from the beach and this was a surprise birthday gift for my husband. We both had never Ziplines before but Katie & Melissa made is super comfy and relaxing for us! We will definitely be back may a winter trio next time :)

This was my first time on a zip line. I was nervous because I do have a small fear of heights. The guides, although young kids, were laid back and made me feel very comfortable. They also made sure that all safety precautions were taken. We went on a rainy day but you couldn't even tell because of the canopy... More

While camping at Yogis (there is a walking path between Yogis campground and Bear Mountain) my son asked if we could go over and zip line. It was our last day and we still had to break camp, I hesitated, but he was adamant we go. I called and didn’t get an answer, they called right back. There was nobody... More

I and my husband have ziplined in Costa Rica....so we are spoiled. My 11 year old has gone now 3 times and really liked this zipline. It was safe and was really beautiful to be going through the national forest. A great pairing with luray caverns....we did the 5:30 zipline and went to dinner after. The staff was really nice... I have never been ziplining and was worried how I would handle the heights as I am not crazy about them. I was perfectly fine. If you can ride on a ski lift, you can do this. Our guides were great guys and my husband, son and I had a lot of fun. My only wish is that it wasn't... More

First timers here, my wife and I had always wanted to do ziplining...guides were great!! We started up the mountain with a small run, then increased height and distance on each of the 8 zip lines. There was an 80 year old in our group, so fun and safe for all ages...and a speed rush on the last 3...thanks again..

My wife and I had a great first zip line experience at Bear Mountain today. We loved it and will do it again. The staff was very friendly and courteous, making us feel wanted and safe. A baby zip to get some experience then six more lines zig zagging through the forest canopy down the mountain. The last line comes... More
