Go ahead, get carried away...at Bear Mountain Ziplines in Luray, VA. Our Mama Bear Zipline tour includes 7 ziplines, for a total of 2700 ft of line racing through the forest canopy at up to 35 miles an hour. The last 1000 ft stretch brings you out over a meadow to land on the tower above our 3-story Bear Scramble climbing wall. Your trip starts with a rustic ride up a mountain road behind the tractor, where you’ll get comfortable with the zipline safety gear and procedures on the training zipline. Our professional guides have all been trained according to Association of Challenge Course (ACCT) requirements. We can confidently offer a safe as well as invigorating experience. We also offer a Bear Scramble climbing wall. Scramble up our 3-story climbing wall to ring the bell at the top. Our wall has multiple ascent paths and accommodates two climbers at a time, so you can come with a group and race your friends to the top! Access to the wall is available in half-hour increments, giving users many chances to improve their times, or try out a trickier path up. We use a state-of-the-art auto-belay system, allowing climbers to use the wall unassisted and rappel down under supervision by our certified guides. Please note that participants must weigh between 70 and 250 lbs and be at least 8 years of age to participate in the Mama Bear Zipline tour. The Bear Scramble can accommodate guests who weigh between 50 and 300 lbs.

When you're looking for ziplining, pay attention to the distance of the lines. The big zipline park in WV touts an 800 footer. Bear Mountain has a 900+ footer. Excellent and friendly staff who are talented at making sure the seasoned and timid guests are well cared for. We completed the 11am run, and flipped right around and did the... More

We visited this zipline tour twice over two days and had an excellent time. On our first visit, we tackled the deceptively-named Baby Bear tour, a course with several obstacles such as "broken bridge" and "cargo rope" capped off by two zip runs. I don't recommend this for small children, because a couple of the obstacles (such as the wobbling... More

We tried as first timers and will go again. The guides, Melissa and Tony, super safe professional staff diffused any worry so we could concentrate on having fun and enjoying the mountain forest.

My wife asked to do this for her birthday. It was pretty awesome. The staff was friendly and fun but still very professional, concerned the we all would have a fun and safe time. Don't be dismayed by the gravel parking lot and small office building. The action takes place up on the mountain. Well worth the trip!

My husband and I took our two daughters (ages 13 and 11) and we all had a blast! I didn't know what to expect since this was my first time zip lining. The guides were very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly and with you the entire time. So much fun and would definitely do it again if we visit the area... More

My family and I had an incredible time. I was not sure about it because I was nervious. Our guides and my husband were so patient with me. I completed all eight ziplines. What a great day we had even though it was quite windy.

It doesn't look like much when you show up. Pretty much a parking lot and a trailer, but the course is very well constructed and each zipline is a nice long run. My 8 year old who was barely heavy enough, loved it and wanted to do it again. It's not inexpensive, but worth the trip if visiting Luray. Instructors... More

We celebrated my husband's 31st birthday in Luray and started our weekend with ziplining at Bear Mountain! We had a private tour since if was off-season (early March) and had a great time. Our guides were personable, friendly and ensured we were enjoying ourselves. It took about an hour for the two of us to complete the 8 ziplines. Great... More

I went with my boyfriend for his birthday. We had never been ziplining before and we had the best time ever! The step by step instructions and continued guidance throughout the tour made me feel very safe. The staff was so kind and took care of us like family. It was definitely a birthday we will never forget! We can't... More
