About Bear Mountain Ziplines
Go ahead, get carried away...at Bear Mountain Ziplines in Luray, VA. Our Mama Bear Zipline tour includes 7 ziplines, for a total of 2700 ft of line racing through the forest canopy at up to 35 miles an hour. The last 1000 ft stretch brings you out over a meadow to land on the tower above our 3-story Bear Scramble climbing wall. Your trip starts with a rustic ride up a mountain road behind the tractor, where you’ll get comfortable with the zipline safety gear and procedures on the training zipline. Our professional guides have all been trained according to Association of Challenge Course (ACCT) requirements. We can confidently offer a safe as well as invigorating experience. We also offer a Bear Scramble climbing wall. Scramble up our 3-story climbing wall to ring the bell at the top. Our wall has multiple ascent paths and accommodates two climbers at a time, so you can come with a group and race your friends to the top! Access to the wall is available in half-hour increments, giving users many chances to improve their times, or try out a trickier path up. We use a state-of-the-art auto-belay system, allowing climbers to use the wall unassisted and rappel down under supervision by our certified guides. Please note that participants must weigh between 70 and 250 lbs and be at least 8 years of age to participate in the Mama Bear Zipline tour. The Bear Scramble can accommodate guests who weigh between 50 and 300 lbs.

Had a lot of fun with the Mama Bear zip line tour. My husband and myself, both in our early 50s, plus our 20-something son - all had a good time. There was another family with us, a couple with a young daughter, who seemed to equally enjoy themselves. The staff was very friendly and punctual, as we arrived at the appointed time to get geared up. They were very patient as they assisted everyone with each zip and I felt safe at all times with the provided equipment and methods they followed. Highly recommend!

We had a amazing time doing the Mama Bear tour. The guides were very knowledgeable and made the experience even better. I'm terrified of this kind of stuff but Katie and Brandon were great talking me through it, by the end I wanted to do it all over again. They were great with our girls, age 13 and 10, making them feel safe up that high! We will most definitely be going back the next time we are up that way!

My husband and I took our 3 kids (14, 11, and 9) here yesterday. We did the Mama Bear zip line tour. A little out of my comfort zone but I’m SO GLAD we did it. It was a BLAST. Katie and Brandon were our guides and they were awesome. Highly recommend!!

I enjoyed zip lining at Bear Mountain Ziplines! The owner of the establishment were kind and super accommodating. We had 2 very young kids and they offered to babysit- which was nice, except our youngest wasn't keen ;). They gave them popsicles and bubbles, which was really nice. Our stars were the two guides; Katie and Savannah. They made us feel so calm and excited to plunge into that beautiful forest top. It was our first time and we thoroughly enjoyed it much so that we will be back.It was a great experience for my husband as he celebrated his birthday. It was a great August day with beautiful weather all round. Thank you and see you soon. :)

Made a same day reservation, thrilled we were able to do the zip lining after our long drive even though it was raining. Katie and Brandon were great guides for our party of four and they were very professional and friendly. We were also very appreciative that all of the equipment was disinfected and the guides wore masks while in close quarters with us.
