A real treat.

This is just the kind of place you should be going to to see Animals. These animals have been rescued, are retired form the abuses of MAN or have been beloved pets to humans that have come upon misfortune. The fee is minimal for the good will and sanctuary they provide these poor souls. If you are an animal lover,... More

Don't expect too much. This is a small privately run animal rescue zoo. It operates mostly from sponsorship and has a minimal staff. I would recommend this for small children mostly. It is not very large so it might be nice for individuals who have difficulty walking.

This was our families first time visiting Luray. Saturday after we visited the Luray Caverns we came across this zoo while getting lunch at McDonalds and decided to stop in to check it out. Prices were good, $10 per adult and $5 per child. From the outside it looked small but we were wrong, it was a decent size zoo.We... More

While the work the zoo does is admirable (rescue animals) and it was a nice place to visit with small children, it is not a professionally run operation. We were in the petting zoo area and my son was petting a small goat. An ostrich came up behind him from a fenced in area that his back was to and... More

We are a professional run operation and do not appreciate your statement. While in the petting zoo area it does state to watch out for the rhea bird which is a very small bird as it can peck . We have no ostrich here. Yes by going in the petting zoo you resume the responsible and risk while interacting with... More

Small family owned zoo with a good selection of snakes, especially various rattlers. Beautiful peacock, large condor, llama, goats ( fun petting area, great for kids), etc. Owner was there and giving tours. He was very knowledgeable and interesting. Could get good close view of most of the animals. Picture taking not so good through wire cages but visit was... More

They don't have many animals, but the stories behind how they came to be there are interesting. Oh, and they have the most impressive venomous snake collection I have ever seen. If you dig snakes, you should totally make the trip.

We had a zoo tour booked in advance but due to pouring down rain the day of, the zoo owner asked if we wanted to keep tour (in rain), reschedule, or cancel and receive a full refund. I asked if we could possibly go the next day, though I didn't know my group's plans for the next day. She was... More

Ended up raining on the day we went. Enjoyed seeing the rescued animals, but wish we had managed a sunny day. Employee informative and willing to answer any questions we had. I was a little concerned about a few of the living quarters being to small for the resident, but was assured that they each were appropriately housed. It's a... More

This rescue zoo was very clean, everything was well taken care of and we admire the people who take care of all the rescued! It was amazing the number of different kind of snakes that they had. The pigmy goats were adorable. Very unique birds and monkeys. We enjoyed our visit!
