Located in the heart of Luray this was a nice surprise for a fun space and quality beer. The GPS had a heck of a time navigating and took us in circles once in town, so we ended up looking at the address and the streets to find the old fashion way! It’s a little rustic with indoor and outdoor seating. You can bring your own food and there was a food truck on site on the weekend. They had about 9 beers to choose from and it was nice to have a change from ALL IPA! They had a pair of wheats, a porter, a cream all and more. They seemed to cleverly work fruit into a few and while I tend to shy from these, they were very well done. High marks for the Kolsch-like cream ale, the red ale and the Working Class Hoppy Pale ale “POG”. The staff were attentive and friendly. Spoke with the brewer/owner for a few minutes and he was super friendly and loved to chat about the beers. It was the best part of our afternoon in the Luray area. They offer growlers and have most stuff in cans to go.

Every time we come here the staff is super friendly! The beer is good and we have enjoyed many different brews. The only suggestion I would make it that the interior is just kind of cold......needs some ambience and decorating. But that's just my opinion.

We visited during the height of COVID restrictions so it was strictly curbside take out. Service was great and staffer helpful in making recommendations.
Brewery itself seemed like a good space and would love to return and go inside!

We stopped here to get local beer, a couple of 32 oz crowlers, that were poured off the draft and canned in front of you onsite. The brewery had adequate outdoor space and taking beer to go felt safe. The staff were friendly and the beer was good. We had a Belgian Wheat and a cream ale. I would love to come back again and explore the beer list more thoroughly someday.

Things were just starting to re-open during our recent visit but Hawksbill was erring on the side of caution and still just doing curbside crowlers to go. We got two - a pale ale and a citrus. So far only the pale ale has been enjoyed and it was good! Would definitely return next time we're in the area for more of the full brewery experience.

My wife and I stopped in for a quick beer, and stayed for hours.. the place is eclectic, fun and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful, with beer selection and local menus for food.. we ended up ordering delivery pizza and eating it right there. Made for a great day. Would highly recommend it!

We stopped here to try a flight for some local beer while visiting this town. Couldn’t get a flight due to covid apparently but it didn’t stop us from trying every beer on the board.the brown cow nitro was our favorite along with there famous pale ale. We bought a 4 pack to go. Even enjoyed the pulled pork nacho from the local food truck there called double ads bbq.

Heard this place was great so decided to stop by. Recommend the Bootstrappin Black Lager. Place was busy and a bit loud. Staff very friendly.

Visited the brewery with friends while in town per recommendation from another vendor on main street (The Valley Cork). We were really wine drinkers but David made it an interesting and fun visit for all of us. We had several samples and before it was over we found flavors that we enjoyed at the bar while socializing with him and even brought some crowlers (like growlers but in a can) home for later. Great vacation memories. The owner, David made it a fun stop while visiting /supporting the small businesses in the quaint little town.

This is clearly the place to be in town. Come in on a weekend night and it feels like all of Luray is here! Really good beers- the Haymaker Cream Ale seems to be the most popular and I think there's good reason for that. I enjoyed that one immensely. Definitely stop in if you're in Luray!

Are there food trucks at brewery. If we pick up BBQ can we eat it here if having beer?

You can check their Facebook page to see if they are having food trucks available. I haven’t seen them run away people who have food with them. They are very easy going!

link to website is broken. is the brewing co still open? if so what are the hours for dec 21-23?

Can't speak to hours that far out. I updated the info with the real website because it won't let me put a URL in this answer. Just take out the wordpress. and it works, or google them, and it's the first link.
