Lauren is a fabulous teacher who provides just the right dose of input when you need it. Her space is beautiful and she offers a wide range of materials to work with (as well as great coffee!). Her knowledge of the art canon, as well as materials is vast and immensely helpful.

The space was well set up and equipped, with beautiful natural light and comfort controlled air. This workshop was team-taught by two highly compatible instructors who each shared their extensive personal and creative experience and knowledge.

I've been to Lauren's studio three times in three years. I've taken a private class with her, attended her group session, done some private mentoring sessions and just completed a four-day workshop called "Anything Goes: Working Large - and More". Each time I work with Lauren, I take a leap forward in understanding my painting process. I love her openness, sharing and focus on the deep spiritual connections that lie beneath our desire to paint. I paint from a deeper place because of her influence and how openly she shares her own process and knowledge.

I visited Santa Fe at the end of April specifically to take Lauren Mantecon's Painting Big/Anything Goes workshop at her studio. It was an enlightening and productive experience - much to recommend for all painters. Lauren is a wonderful instructor who knows how to guide but not hover. I highly recommend any of her classes.

My husband and I have limited art experience. Lauren accesses this and frames class to it. We used paint, crayons and encaustic. Lauren even asked what kind of music we wanted. We had a fabulous time and walked off with 5 masterpieces. My only caution is that this is an out of the way place (dirt road) and at first our GPS couldn't find it. But it was worth the drive.
