About
Sun Country Traders has been locally owned and in business since 1979. We carry hand made Native American items from artists that we know and love. Come visit us in store to see our collection of Zuni beadwork, Hopi kachinas, Zuni and Navajo fetishes, Jemez and Santo Domingo Pottery, Navajo folkart, and a wide variety of jewelry from all of the above. We have developed great relationships with our artists over the years, but also with our customers! We truly appreciate each and every one of you!

I was walking around town & found this great shop for hand crafted jewelry to bring back as souvenirs. Two of the 4 sets of earrings I purchased were made by the woman who helped me, but she didn’t tell me until after I made my selection because she didn’t want to influence my decision. I sound out she came from a family of silversmiths. The store has a broad selection @ fair prices.

I went in to buy both art objects and jewelry. It was obvious to the employees that I had certain interests and they not only told me about the artists that made my silver ring and Native American Indian objects they wrote it done. They have a lot of different business cards and to my delight one of them was in the line of items I bought so when the wrote done the name of the family who did the item they wrote it on the appropriate card.

Just around the corner from the plaza is Sun Country Traders. Check them out first before starting your native jewelry/souvenir shopping...then go have a laugh when you see how some other places, especially those owned by "foreigners" start at 8-10 times more for the same stuff. Seriously, the first price for the same earrings at a shop next door started at $800 (but could be discounted for 30% for a special sale) while the first (and only price) at Sun Country Traders was $79. I was on a "girl's get-away" with 2 other women, and all of us are veteran "shoppers". We all found prices for high quality items to be very honest and fair. The sales lady (Stephanie) and shop owner (Robbie) were super knowledgeable about the goods, the artists who make them and honest if something looked good or not-so on a person. This place was great and I would highly, highly, highly recommend checking them out first for some real deals.

We visit Santa Fe yearly, and we love doing business with these people. Their prices are really fair, and they are super trustworthy. They have a great selection of Native American folk art.

Leave the Plaza and visit this store which has outstanding beaded items, jewelry and wood carvings mostly from the Zuni community. Friendly staff will give you the back story. Made an effort to help keep this folk art and Zuni tradition alive. Young artists are using contemporary themes that may appeal to a broader consumer -- Star Wars, Santas, Halloween and Easter themes along with items that appeal to those seeking Native American art.. The beading work on figures is outstanding. Prices will not start below about $18 but nice to know not made in China but by artists from the region. Bought a great, smaller Santa figurine. They also have great jewelry and other hand made items. Go and browse. Certain you will find something.

I walked into this store and found the perfect Indian jewelry I had been looking to find for a long, long time. The prices were excellent along with the service. The woman who helped me was very knowledgeable about the jewelry ( I had purchased a piece on consignment). The entire experience was just delightful! I will definitely go to this shop again while in Santa Fe.

We quickly learned that one must be careful buying “authentic” Native American made carvings, jewelry, and folk art from many Santa Fe stores.
If you are interested in buying such items and supporting the makers, buy them here.
This store has a long history with area Native American carvers/silver-smiths and they care deeply about supporting their makers.

The ladies working in the store were all VERY helpful. This store is a MUST if you are in Santa Fe.

Stumbled across this gem of a shop. Staff were so helpful and friendly - not at all pushy. They patiently helped my daughters to choose beautifully hand crafted earrings which were very reasonably priced. I was thrilled to find the vintage section of the cabinet and am so happy with my purchase. So good to find quality and honest, friendly service amongst the multitude of Santa Fe shops.

This is one of the BEST places to shop in Santa Fe. Amazing beadwork, jewelry, folk art, etc., made by Native American artists. And you don't need to worry about authenticity! Staff is friendly and helpful. There is something at every price range. Plan to spend a lot of time browsing, enjoying, and buying!
