Price-friendly Pottery Aplenty at Santa Fe West!
Oct 2021
Santa Fe is a swirling maze of art galleries and collectibles shops. Thought I had seen it all when I popped into Santa Fe West Gallery while my wife shopped next door. I had intended to kill time when I realized that here was the biggest collection of pottery--our prime art interest--that I had ever seen.

Soon I was descended upon with friendly bravado by Moses, the proprietor and the only other person in the big store. He whisked me around the long display cases on either side of the place, quickly gauging what caught my eye and pointing out piece after piece of exactly what appealed. I'm a salesman myself and I had reached critical mass with shopping, so at first I shrugged off his "pitch"; I'm from Chicago and have heard my share of hustles. In fact, I nearly ran out of the store with the fall-back excuse that I had to "rescue" my wife next door. He followed and kept up the banter, not losing a breath as others entered the store and were immediately placed under his spell.

I mentioned to my wife that we needed to slink away because Santa Fe West Gallery had a tempting amount of great pottery--and our suitcases were more than maxed out already! But I noted that this fellow Moses was a work of art himself and highly entertaining. So for fun we ventured back into the gallery, and there was Moses shouting from back in the store, "I knew you would be back! I have a few more pieces that I pulled out for you."

Friendly banter continued, including his quick assessment that my wife was the true appreciator of fine pottery. Before we were done, we had bought 5 pieces that he made irresistible by bundling a great price. And today our home is adorned with cherished memories of our stay in Santa Fe--much of it the result of our chance encounter with the unforgettable Moses.

Made my day!!
Jul 2021 • Couples
I never expected to make a good friend shopping in Santa Fe. Moses is larger than life with a heart as big as Texas. Don’t buy your jewelry from the other stores and get ripped off. He is the real deal and will give you an honest one. Shop some jewelry shops then go and see Moses…a great price is a small part of the deal. You will love it…guaranteed.

Amazing jewelry!

I had a great time looking at all of the unique pieces inside this store. Many of the items are made by the local tribes. Stop by and you will not be disappointed.

BEST PLACE TO BUY TURQUOISE IN SANTA FE
Sep 2014 • Couples
My husband and I walked all over Santa Fe, including the local Native American flea markets, trying to buy turquoise jewelry at a good price. All the stores wanted over a $1200 for a handmade silver and turquoise bracelet. We must have gone to 15 stores before we went a little farther away from the center of town. I thought $850 from the Native American flea market was a fair price, but still thought it was very expensive. We strolled into this place, and instantly saw hundreds of turquoise pieces. Moses the owner was low key, and not pressuring you to buy. We did our homework, so we knew that these pieces were authentic and not fakes. When I finally found the bracelet I wanted, I got it for $500!!! Make sure you ask Moses for a deal. The prices listed are still fabulous, but why not ask the owner to give you a better price to boot! I would tell anyone looking to buy turquoise that this is the place. Check out the photo of the piece!
