At first, I didn't like the place or the owner. Until I realized that he's been dealing with nut jobs & drunks of all types for more than 42 years. I'd be out of sorts from time to time if I had his job. Yes, his father was a war hero and stories like his are important. If you want... More

Went on a Tuesday night just passing through town. Owner/bartender could give half a sh*# about customer service. No beer on tap, cash only... He smoked and put his smokey hand on my beer to open it... It instantly tasted like a cigarette even after I put it into a glass. Not that I'm a snob, but if I'm paying... More

I very much enjoyed the experience. Visited during the day when it was not busy. The owner, the son of Evangelo, told me about his father's experiences in WWII. The owner was happy to talk and I thoroughly enjoyed my time. I liked the idea of cash only. It took me back to the old days. Please visit. You will... More

This is a no nonsense bar that allows you to have a beer in peace while listening to great local bands. This is a cash only bar, so no credit cards. No bud either. I will be back when in town.

We come here every time, whether there is live music or just locals hanging out with the owner Nick. Ask him about the Budweiser ban... His dad was a WW2 soldier who was made famous for being on the cover of Life Magazine and later on a stamp. They are Greek and the bar sometimes serves gyros which are supposed... More

This shotgun bar is one of our favorite places to visit in Santa Fe when they are having music there that we know. For 15 or 16 years this bar was the home of the Santa Fe Chilies who disbanded several years ago. Today we visit whenever Jay Boy Adams and Zenobia are playing and we are available. Both artists... Great place to hang out - We stumbled across it when we got dumped off at the Plaza on a very cold December night, at 9:00, from a Sandia Shuttle (better to rent yourself a car in ABQ). Great beer selection and great vibe in the place. It is small, but very lively. Be sure to have Nick Klonis (the... More

If you appreciate true grit.... You've found it here. Good people and good times. Family owned and operated since 1970. Those who don't drink Tequila need not apply.

Evangelo's is a Santa Fe institution. This corner bar hosts local musicians who encourage the patrons to dance in front of the stage. Drinks are cold & the atmosphere hosts locals & tourists alike.
