With it's $6,000,000 art inventory displayed at every turn, this landmark is a beautiful break from the shops and galleries around The Plaza. We found our visit to be most enjoyable and it is a plus to be offered Free! New Mexico should be very proud!

My husband and I were walking on Old Santa Fe Trail Road and decided to stop in for a peek at the State Capital building. There was a wonderful quilt exhibit in the first floor gallery, but also a very impressive collection of New Mexican artwork for viewing throughout the building. It is a beautiful building in which to amble... More

It's like a 3 ring circus during legislative season: bills discussed, designated days for special groups, important people being honored. There is never a dull moment in this building. Definitely a sight to see.

We came for a fiber art exhibit in the Rotunda, but also stayed to see the patchwork buffalo head and many other beautiful pieces of art in the building. Nice architecture, too!

Nice art exhibits. Admission is free and it's a lovely building. Great place to cool off on a hot day.

Yes, stop in to see the legislative chambers. But, much more, view the wonderful collection of New Mexican art. We were pleased to see a unique and beautiful quilt show off the main rotunda.

It's not necessarily the most compelling attraction in Central Santa Fe, but the Capitol does have a unique layout that makes it architecturally unlike any other state Capitol building I've been in, and the walls are full of original works by New Mexican artists, making it a fairly nice little art gallery. The best thing about it is that it's... More

Go to this state treasure. Look, see, and learn. "Free" is a great price and a good value. At least equal to the other museums that are pricier.

Go here for a 30 - 60 minute tour of the 360 degree gallery of art. You can also look into the Senate and House chambers. Great that everything is so open and accessible. Currently there is a beautiful Fiber Arts exhibition in the main lobby.

Wonderful free painting and sculpture tour and I remain amazed that tourists can wander freely throughout the building.
