This place is considered by some to be the oldest house in the US. I believe the origin story is lost to history, but no matter what it is definitely more than 400 years old and we appreciated the chance to enjoy it. We were able to enter (no fee charged, although there is a gift shop and they also take donations) and see the two rooms of the house, which have some old artifacts and information about how the house may have been used when it was first built. We only needed about 10 minutes to look around, but we were happy to have gotten a chance to see the house and its interior.…

Definitely worth a visit. Even though it is small, it is next to the Oldest Church next door and both visits can be done nicely in an hour. The gift shop attached to the oldest house has some nice native pieces and a man there was wonderful giving us local history of the area, the Santa Fe Trail and the Camino Reall. Touted to be the oldest house in the US, by the New Mexico Historical Society "only". Only because they are unable to accurately date the home. Said to have been built at some point during the Spanish Inquisition. If you have the time.

I love history and architecture. This little house was quite interesting. Tour is self guided. House is small. Tour is free. Gift shop nice. Staff very helpful and provided an area map.

This is said to be the oldest house in Santa Fe, though it's unknown exactly when it was built. It's really just two small rooms reproducing colonial life along with a gift shop. It's free, and if you are visiting San Miguel Chapel across the street, it's good for a quick stop. Otherwise, it's not really something to go out of your way to see.…
