Taste of Santa Fe Wine and Dine Lunch

22 reviews
The Taste of Santa Fe Tour is unique because it features some of our top restaurants in Santa Fe, highlights our favorite historical points of interest, and wraps up with our favorite hidden gem for dessert. This tour has a bit more of a upscale theme, is eclectic, and happens to be our top tour. We will provide information about the history of Santa Fe, our food, culture, and historical points of interests such as the Palace of the Governors, The St. Francis Basilica, The San Miguel Mission (Oldest church structure in the USA), and The Loretto Chapel (Home to the Miraculous Staircase). This tour includes a full lunch, n/a drinks, alcohol pairings (Such as wine, margaritas, or local beers), as well as dessert. This tour meets at 10:45am near the plaza (Exact meeting instructions will be found on your ticket), starts at 10:55am and lasts 2.5-3 hours.

After almost six months in physical isolation--and climbing the four walls-- it was time for a change of pace and self-care. I booked three nights at the Waves, four soaking sessions, two massages and meals (including one inspiring eight course meal) at their bistro. Needless to say, I emerged renewed, relaxed and--dare I say--reinvented. I left as one happy human thinking, "OK world, I am ready to roll!"

My boyfriend and I celebrated my 30th birthday during the pandemic and we couldn't believe how incredible our experience was over the short weekend we had. As soon as you drive onto property, you immediately feel the welcome embrace of being away from everything. Your stress disappears as soon as you walk into your amazing home-away-from-home (in our case, the wonderful Rising Moon suite). The staff are incredibly kind and understanding, especially during this tense time. They were accommodating and thoughtful, ensuring we had everything we needed for a lovely stay. We didn't have any worries the 3 days we spent soaking, getting massages and eating at Izanami. Seriously, if this pandemic is threatening to make you go insane - go to Ten Thousand Waves!

$300 for a room but you can't soak at a spa named 10000 Waves? Seriously, we booked an expensive room but when we get there we are told we can't soak in any of the pools because they are already reserved. Like Santa Fe itself, this place is overrated, overpriced, and resting on laurels from decades ago.

John H., Thank you for your review. Although we aren't sure of your last name, It appears you stayed in our Hangetsu Room and were comped 100% of your room charge for not being able to soak. After being closed for three months, we've reopened with many changes in procedures and policies to keep our staff and guests safe. While we've tried to be perfect, we realize that mistakes do happen and we need to identify and correct items as they come up. We appreciate your understanding during this trying time and know that we are always trying to improve. Stay well!

Reserved Ofuro based on staff recommendation, and I'm glad we had a private tub and bathroom as we're just not communal tub people. Ofuro has a nice private room that you get locked in. There's a changing area, shower, sink with hairdryer, and toilet. The issue I have is that you pay for 90 minutes but they buzz you 15 minutes before the end of the time on a speaker you can't really understand, so you can get ready and get out. Well it's hard for multiple adults to get ready in 15 minutes. I'd suggest having a clock in there so people can choose to get out of the tub earlier if they choose. Or give people more time to change back - it's really jarring to be so relaxed then have to rush out! Also Ofuro overlooks to the pathway that leads to the spa so you are interrupted by people's conversations - in our case their seemed to be lots of families with children and kids/parents having zero respect for this being a peaceful, quiet, and relaxing place. Not really Ten Thousand Wave's fault on that but lack of common courtesy by people.

DenverGal, Thank you for your review. While we've not had a complaint around being called at 15 minutes prior to the end of the tub, we can see how it could be difficult for larger groups to get ready in this time. We will talk to our tub hosts about asking our guests if they would like to be called earlier. We do feel having clocks in the tub areas distracts from some individuals ability to relax. Clients are welcome to bring their watches or phones if they would like to keep and eye on the time while soaking. We do have many other tubs and hope that you are able to visit us again.

I have been to a lot of spas but none quite like this. Such a unique and beautiful place. Stone massage was fabulous. Staff all very friendly. Will definitely be back.
