Ten Thousand Waves is inspired by the great Japanese mountain hot spring resorts. Ten minutes from downtown Santa Fe, but only minutes from the National Forest, there is nothing quite like this on the North American continent. Among piñons and junipers are beautiful outdoor hot tubs and spa suites, world-class bodywork & skin care, and the amazing izanami restaurant. For a lucky few, it is the closest lodging to the Santa Fe Ski area.

Started with lunch at the restaurant, which was very good. Everything is very "Zen", Japanese, relaxing and restful. Quiet atmosphere with such clean, fresh mountain air to breathe in between treatments. Bridgette gave me one of the best massages i've ever had - I dozed off a couple of times and she actually had to help me stand after because... More

We have been to Ten Thousand Waves twice while visiting Santa Fe and both times booking the Oforu spa suite because it has a traditional Japanese bathing area, large soaking tub, sauna, and cooling area. These 90-minute sessions have been some of the most relaxing experiences of my life.

I know should have liked it more, and I didn't try the pools as I didn't want coed and didn't want to not wear my suit in the women's pool. I was there for a massage. There was little to do before the massage. No trwils to walk. Few comfiest places to sit. Everyone walking in robes which is weird... More

This is a great attraction and was overdue for a overhaul. The public pool has had a total makeover that replaced the old wooden big barrel tub with a nice tiled tub - but its no longer a deep tub, but a shallow one. I'm a tall person and I liked sitting in the deep water, now I have to... More

This experience was overpriced and under delivered. My husband and I each had a package of three services so there was an opportunity to have at least a few services that were stellar - didn't happen. We are frequent spa guests all over the world so feel like we're experienced enough to comment. It is a big busy spa and... More

Immediately after arriving on our flight, we went right away to Ten Thousands Waves for an afternoon of treatments. What an afternoon it was! Better than we expected in our wildest dreams. We started off with a private tub soak then my wife had a Yasuragi Head & Neck Treatment while I did a Herbal Wrap Treatment. Finally, we each... More

One woman brought her large dog into the women's dressing/locker room throughout the day I was at the spa, another woman brought her 12 year old son into the women's dressing locker room. I had to change and then later dry off and change with a dog bumping into me and a boy watching within a few feet of me.... More

Went with family. We rented the Ichiban spa room. It was amazing and wonderful. Kept wishing we could rent it for the whole day! It was gorgeous and perfect in every way. The staff at 10K is also very nice and professional. I had a service for the back and shoulders and it was fairly nice, but the person doing... More

Loved walking around the area even though it was raining off and on while we were there. Close to Santa Fe and a nice location central to many other interesting areas. Lit the fire in our room when the temperatures dropped at night which kept us warm enough. Bathroom has some eccentricities - like what you would find in an... More

We spent three nights in the Sailor Moon room, spending half of each day in the spa, and the other half exploring Santa Fe. The room was wonderful, relaxing, and perfect. We ate two dinners at the restaurant which were absolutely perfect. Truly a special place!
