Rosa has magical hands and is a lovely masseuse. She gave me a fantastic and extremely relaxing prenatal massage. Highly recommend a visit to the spa. I did not stay at the hotel but the spa team made a special effort to get me scheduled.

On the positive side: the spa is attractively designed with a stylish combination of modern acrylic furniture, old wooden doors, spectacular wall of faux salt crystal etc. Unfortunately this is outweighed by the negatives. My massage was OK, not great, my companion's was below average. For the very considerable cost, one expects top quality. Almost worse: I always think details matter, so I was quite startled to be told by the spa attendant, when I tried to make myself a cup of herbal tea and noticed that the water in the thermos was cold, that it was her habit to refill the hot water at three PM for the last time. Really - it's too much work to boil water for the people with later appointments? I take that as a bad sign of the general attitude towards the client. Lastly, there is no hot tub, no sauna, no steam room, none of the things one would expect from such an expensive spa.

While staying at this fabulous hotel I took a brief tour and so unhappy I didn’t have the time for a treatment. Beautiful space, friendly staff and clean!

It was my experience that the Spa at Hotel Santa Fe & LaFonda offers a luxury experience but failed to deliver. I booked my appointment for a 2-1/2 hour spa treatment through the La Fonda Hotel where I was staying. I was quoted $190 for the treatment and made the reservation for 9 AM based upon that quote. I was also told to arrive at 8:45 AM to check-in and change clothes first, and that a car would pick me up at 8:35 AM to transport me to the spa. So, I arrived at the car pick-up point on time and waited, and waited, and waited. After calling the Spa several times to find if the shuttle was coming, it finally arrived at 9:05 AM! We arrived at the Spa at 9:15 AM and were assured by the receptionist that my appointment would be pushed back to accommodate the full 2-1/2 hours promised. So, I checked-in and went to the locker room to change. At 9:30 AM (a half hour late) the treatment began. The massage was fine, but not as good as those I’ve had at other similar spas in the past. At 11 AM, (1-1/2 hours later) the masseuse announced that time was up (I had no watch or clock and didn’t realize the time) so I went to the locker room and changed back into my clothing. After I changed, the masseuse came in to say that she had made a mistake on the time and I still had more time coming to me. I really couldn’t see starting over again, so I said it was OK and that we’d just end it there. She said she’d go to the front desk and explain the error to the receptionist. I finished up and went to the front desk to pay me bill. It was a shock to be presented with a bill for $250!! The explanation was that those were the rates for the 2-1/2 hour treatment (even though I had only a 1-1/2 hour treatment) and that the La Fonda’s quote of $190 was inaccurate. However, the receptionist did offer me a 20% discount, which brought the charge down to $200. When I mentioned that I had one hour less than the actual treatment, she only let me leave a note for the spa director who would be in a few days later. I did get an email from the director offering me free treatment the next time I’m in Santa Fe. While I appreciated the offer, I don’t intend to return to the city and therefore, replied that I’d prefer a partial refund to better reflect the 1-1/2 treatment rates. Her reply to my request is that she checked with her staff and they said I received a 2 hour treatment and that there would be no further discount. So, I was left with no options at all, and treated as though I had lied. This is insulting. And, by the way, the car that was supposed to take us back to the La Fonda was a half hour late and left us standing on the street waiting. Any relaxation benefits from the massage were gone. I would never, ever, go back to this spa again.

If I could rate the Spa at zero, I would. Absolute worst service, we have never been treated more poorly. The owner, Stacy, was rude and proceeded to charge our room for services we did not receive....and added gratuity.

I have never stayed in a Hotel 7000 ft above sea level set in the middle of a little town in New Mexico. Having said that, all the rooms were warm, comfortable and had a good open fire. The bedrooms, although not luxurious were more than adequate and the beds were comfortable. The Concierge was always most helpful. My only complaint about the little town of Santa Fe is that the signage to museums or other attractions is virtually zero. Unless you are a local, you will spend many frustrating journeys trying to find where, particularly, museums are located on the outside of town. Having got there they are well worth a visit.

The hotel is classy with well appointed rooms, lovely pool/hot tub area, a nice bar and lounge and outdoor, but covered dining area. It's all style and Santa Fe class. The folks at the front desk are also pure class and professional, and very helpful. And it's only a 5 minute walk into downtown Santa Fe. Can't say enough about the value of our stay here.

I stayed there the first time in 1998.returned in 1999! 2002! It's 3 stories..Rooms are Comfortable>Depending on what side your room is the views are wonderful1 The first time was looking down at the pool that is shaped like a dog bone! Next was looking at a Large Teepee where you can make reservations to be served privately! The other view are the Mountains. They have a Shuttle that will take you wherever you want to go.The Plaza which is Downtown is only 5 minutes away! The Lobby makes you feel as though you're in a Livingroom>Fireplace..one night a week a man comes to play music that's so soothing you sink into the sofa's! Great Food All 3 meals. They added the Building behind which is a little more private! We stayed there for a week too>.felt like a condo and they have Private Butlers for any needs! Love it!!

I highly recommend including a visit to the spa on your next trip to Santa Fe, NM. Gladys is an amazing esthetician. She knew exactly what my skin needed and has a light, but effective hand when it comes to extractions. Try the East Indian massage with Blake. She has amazing hands. Susan did a wonderful job working an injury out of my friends shoulder (Essential Blends massage) and her reflexology skills (Dancing Feet) were painless and effective. My friend was so grateful after her treatment. I also loved the Wind and Mountain with Char. And I was pleasantly surprised to find that the robes actually covered everything that needed to be covered. I can only describe the entire experience as relaxing and wonderful.

I was treating a friend and we both had a memorable and positive experience. The Spa is beautiful and the staff is warm and friendly. They use great products and the massage technicians went beyond and above the standard time of the appointments to give advice and share info. I highly recommend the Spa and plan to go back on my next trip to Santa Fe!
