Awesome market for local products!
Jun 2021
We always schedule in a trip to the Santa Fe farmer's market when we are here. There are lots of fresh and yummy veggies and fruits to choose from as well as locally made goods. This trip we didn't need much, but we got some lovely snap peas and a super fresh bunch of basil. Regretting that we brought so much from home!

A must see in Santa Fe
Aug 2020
No summer visit to Santa Fe is complete without a visit to the farmer's market. Because of COVID it wasn't nearly as busy and there were way less vendors, but we still enjoyed ourselves and found some nice buffalo meat and produce.

LOVE this Farmer's Market!
Sep 2019
I enjoy cooking the spicy cuisine of Mexico and the like. This market had everything that I can not get in Tennessee. I have missed since we moved from the Dallas area. Hatch Chiles, Hatch Chiles...! Best garlic, too. Chile powders that are divine...Negro, Chipotle, Mild (not so mild) make your dish have so much more dimension and flavor. Found some bundled sage (you burn it to ward off evil, right)??? - was told you can use as air freshener - ha! While I shopped live music and the smells of Hatch Chile and Santa Fe cuisine filled the air. This market is very busy and parking, although plentiful, is not plentiful enough so come early. There is a parking garage that is a little further off where you will for sure find a space it is just a further walk (but not bad). You can also find some wares like woven baskets and some artisans selling there art/jewelry. Lots of people choose to have breakfast here, like a blue corn donut. No dogs are allowed in the market - FYI - even though Santa Fe is very dog friendly.

If you are there on a Saturday morning (or sometimes Tuesday)....

I really enjoyed walking around this market and trying the samples. It seems like a really local thing to do. There are people who seem to congregate here as a place to meet and have breakfast and chat. It is over by the old rail yard. It is also near the SITE Santa Fe art museum. Great fresh baked goods and produce as well as art vendors outside in the back of the indoor section.

I realize it was a cold morning, but if you are going to only have a handful or two of vendors maybe it shouldn’t be opened any longer for the season. It took me more time to find the market and park my car than it did to look at what was for sale. I was very disappointed but would check it out if I were to come back during a summer month.

Fantastic, fun farmer's market!
Jul 2019
I decided to visit the Santa Fe Farmer's Market during a recent visit, and what a market it was! Tons of fruits, vegetables, meats, eggs, baked goods, jams/jellies, flowers, just everything you can imagine. And just past that, they had an artists' market, where you could purchase handmade jewelry, pottery, textiles, metalwork, all kinds of merchandise. I first swept the whole farmers' market, then chose to buy some gorgeous little yellow cherries at a booth to snack on. There was live music, too, so I perched on a nearby bench, watch the show, and munched away. Perfection.

Then, I browsed the artists' market, picking up some jewelry to take home. (I was SO unable to resist jewelry purchases on this trip. So much gorgeous handmade stuff.)

Do not miss!

Lots to see and try

It was a beautiful autumn morning when we visited. Many many things to see. Plenty of locally grown items. Busy but not jam packed. They even have fresh flowers! The sights, sounds and smells- awesome. Oh and LOTS of artisans! Here’s the downside: parking. Ugh. We spent almost as much time trying to find parking than we actually spent at the market.

Saturday Rail Yard Flea Market

We spent the morning walking around the market. My husband enjoyed a freshly cooked sausage served on a stick. I purchased a mini quiche and piece of apple-raisin strudel. There is a wonderful inside spot that sells vegan breakfast fare, popular breakfast burritos, along with large muffins and a variety of danish. A great go-to spot for locals who seek produce. For us who are stopping by we can pick up some dried spices, jellies, and homemade soaps and oils.

Everything you would want in a market plus Art
Sep 2019
we got there early and walked the entire market and art area only to be amazed by the quality of both the food and the art. Samples were abundant and the people were so kind. A great way to start your day
