Santa Fe School of Cooking is a great place for a group function! Our group of 40 had a fun and educational evening complemented by a delicious three course meal. Our chef was entertaining and the cooking demonstrations were high-touch, including tutorials on grilling chilies!

From 10 am until 1 pm, the facility is very nice. You get to eat the food that is demonstrated, and it is truly gourmet food. The presenter is very knowledgable about heritage, history, cooking methods and ingredients. All four of us enjoyed this.

About 10 years ago I took a cooking class here and when we knew we would be in Santa Fe for a few days I wanted to attend again. I took the Rellenos Class which lasted from 10 until 1. It was a participatory class of 16 people from all across the country and even one guy from Australia. We... More

We took the Restaurant III afternoon walking and tasting tour. Our tour began at the Santa Fe School of Cooking with Frito Chili Pie and Santa Fe Nut Brown beer and a description/history of Santa Fe by Chef Smith, our tour escort. On our walking tour we visited ElDorado Hotel, Ortiz, Joseph's and Saxon. The new executive chef at ElDorado... More

Great facility for demonstrations and workshops. The Maverick tour is mostly a walking tour throughout the city center that focuses on chapters in the author's book. If you are looking for food, this is not the tour for you. If you want history it is average.

During a recent trip to Santa Fe for their 26th Wine and Chile Fiesta, I attended three cooking demonstrations by guest chefs that were truly outstanding. The quality and variety of the chefs brought in to demonstrate and teach are amazing. While these small short events don't have much in the way of audience participation you learn quite a bit... I am not a real fan of cooking shows, but given the opportunity to see the demos live and participate makes for great fun. This is a popular place and deservedly so. This was our first time at their new location which provides plenty of room and great views of the instructors and the process. Not cheap but fun.

We got treated to experiencing a cooking lesson from a James Beard awarded chef, and it was intricate, interesting and even philosophical. After we got to eat what had been prepared
