New museum near Plaza. It was absolutely fabulous. Gave a great overview of history of the area, with lots of items to view and historical interactions. Great gift shop too! Entrance fee lets you in to Palace of the Governers museum too.

A carefully arranged museum that reveals the many varied influences that now define New Mexico awaits you. The history of the region has been anything but calm and peaceful, or simple, for that matter. This museum provides a revelatory and interesting experience that we highly...More

Tons of great exhibits on the history of New Mexico and SF, and lots of archeological artifacts. In spite of the topic, even kept my 11YO interested. Along with the Palace of the Governors, one of the best sites we saw in SF. Highly recommended.

Provides a nice overview of NM history, starting from Spanish colonial days. Gives a very different perspective on US History that I was taught in school.

We had already learned a lot of history from our Loretto Line tram driver and our guide at Taos Pueblo, and this museum just brought it all together for us. Quality displays - nice museum even for those of us not crazy about history.

I was able to freely take pictures throughout the museum and we took the free tour...which by the way was awesome! I am not sure about this particular exhibit but you should call the museum directly.
