About
Come see the largest herd of alpacas in the San Juans on this 40-acre working farm on the beautiful West Side. Alpacas grow one of the world's softest, most luxurious fibers, and are also irresistibly cute. Alpaca fiber is the most sustainable, socially responsible, cruelty-free and functional fiber found in today's textile market. The whole family will enjoy a self-guided stroll around the beautiful grounds. Guided educational tours may be scheduled by calling a week in advance. The Country Store offers a wide selection of beautiful alpaca clothing, accessories, and gifts, and is where visitors can feel the amazing softness of alpaca fiber. The farm is easily found, just minutes from Friday Harbor and Roche Harbor Resort.

We stopped to see the alpacas and check out their store. We spent some time walking past the fields where the alpacas were grazing and enjoying the sunny day. Inside the store, the attendants explained various aspects of alpaca farming and their products. It was a fun visit.

The farm has so many beautiful alpacas which can be viewed. They are the most adorable gentle animals. They are enjoyed outside the fence by kids and adults alike. There is no charge for viewing but there is also a gift shop onsite where you can buy alpaca products if you are interested..

Okay they're adorable. Kids loved the feed eaten from their hands (tickle, not slobbery). I was impressed by the staff keeping some restraints on the amount of feed dispensed per group & overall. Thought that showed care for the alpacas. Alpacas > llamas unless you need a beast of (limited) burden any day.

The alpacas were so cute. You can feed them food for a small fee. Money goes to support the farm and the animals. A self guided tour with information about the farm and the alpacas on the posts of the pastures.
There is a small shop with things to purchase. A little pricey. But the animal encounter was super fun.

Unexpectedly great "quick stop" that turned into a couple of hours checking out the alpacas, feeding them (purchased some hay) and chatting with one of the owners and her daughter. Well kept, leisurely feel, beautiful setting, alpacas and great people. Some very nice clothing in the shop.

We stopped by the farm on our way into Friday Harbor. I never knew how adorable and charismatic alpaca are! Feeding them was loads of fun, too. The shop was also wonderful--super high end products, soft and incredibly warm. A must visit when on San Juan Island.

My family stopped here to visit the alpacas and check out their store. Fortunately, several of the alpacas saw us standing by their water bowl (that was attached to the fence) and came strolling over to within a few feet of us. Great opportunity for pictures. The alpacas were recently sheared in May so they weren't very fuzzy except for a tuff of hair on their heads (really cute). You can't pet the alpacas, and no dogs are allowed on their grounds since they can scare the alpacas. The gift shop had items made from alpaca fibers (sweaters, hats, gloves, etc) and also yarn. Definitely worth a stop over if you're in the area.

Free entrance. Plenty of alpacas roaming around. There are small horses too. You may buy food to feed the alpacas. The shop there sells great alpaca products and clothing.

These little critters are adorable! We had so much fun feeding them. Worth stopping - especially with kids. Our 14-year old granddaughter enjoyed it. The gift shop has lots of unique and beautiful items.

I wasn’t quite sure what to expect here but was pleasantly surprised. You aren’t in the pen with the Alpacas and they only come up when they think you have food, but they are super cute and we had fun just watching them after we ran out of food.

The gift shop has some great items and sells food (1 bag per family $6). Even in a drizzle of rain we had a good time.
