Whale Watching from Friday Harbor

The waters surrounding San Juan Island are full of salmon, the primary food source of orca whales, making it an ideal location for whale watching. With this tour, set out on a boat equipped with a heated cabin and large viewing windows to look for killer whales in their natural habitat. San Juan Island is rich in wildlife, and minke, humpback, and gray whales can also often be seen in the area.

I always visit local galleries as I am involved in one in my home town. Joanne couldn’t have been more pleasant and was knowledgeable about the art on sale. Love the ring that I purchase. Great place with excellent artwork.

Having grown up in gallery packed Santa Fe, I know a great art gallery when I see one. WaterWorks has been a favorite of mine for over ten years. The owner has exquisite taste and a large inventory of art and jewelry at all price points representing the best of the San Juans and beyond. I don't have a lot of money to spend on pretty things but I treasure the Stephen McMillan print I bought years ago and am already in love with my new Judy Morgan necklace that was an end of season splurge. It has complimented so many outfits that I am not sure how I lived without it. Thank you, Ruth, for your great showroom and great collection of art.

Wow, thank you so much for enjoying, and appreciating what it is that WaterWorks Gallery does. For 33 years, the gallery has strived to showcase the sprit and uniqueness that is the Pacific Northwest. You honor me and the gallery with your thoughtful and kind review. Thank you for taking the time to do so! Best.

Took a wonderful trip to San Juan. Went into this gallery and was impressed with some of the art. I put a hold on a painting I really liked. Took a photo of title and price. Put a hold on it to think about it. I came back 2 days later to finalize the sale and the price had gone up 450$. Tourist gouging. Visitors beware!!

Hmmm...now that is a sad statement. We offered you a courtesy hold on a painting in a new show. This was a courtesy that we extend to clients so they can think about owning something and not worry about it being sold out under them. Why would we change the price on something? As the gallery is in business for 33 years, we want our clients to love what they buy. We are here to help. Why would we change a painting price after a hold? We even write it up on paper for you. I'm sorry to say this perhaps, this was just not the painting for you. I wish you well when looking at art and hopefully will find the right painting at the right price. A sad state of affairs, when trying to help out and do the right thing, and it comes and bites you back.

My sister and her family used to have a vacation home in Friday Harbor. Every summer I would drive my young children there to visit. My birthday is in August so my sister and I would go to Waterworks Gallery annually for my birthday present. I always purchased something for myself as well and everything I aquired still lives happily in my home. Don’t miss this very unique gallery. Fun to browse and fun to acquire a memory! Just purchased something very special for my upcoming birthday! Enjoy!

Thank you so much for sharing your review of the gallery. I agree, but then again I founded the gallery 33 years ago to be a purveyor of beauty in all times. Best Ruth Offen
