Great trip. Highly recommend this company. The equipment is good; the guides are knowledgeable, personable and safe, and do a great job of accommodating varying interests and activity levels. You can’t beat the location and the beautiful scenery.
My husband and I had a lovely time on our group kayak trip. The guide was really friendly and knowledgeable about the San Juans, the animals we saw, the geography, the plants, etc. You name it, he knew it. He made sure everyone was comfortable...More
We are so happy we went with Discovery Kayak. Chad was fun, engaging and very well versed in the area. We got to see various birds, seals and Orcas! Thank you for making this such a wonderful experience on our honeymoon.
We had an amazing time on this tour! Our guide Kelly was friendly and super knowledgeable. She also had an amazing eye and spotted a lot of wildlife we might not have noticed. We saw seals, sea lions, eagles and eagle nests, and a variety...More

We took the half-day kayak tour. It was one of our highlights on our vacation to the San Juan Islands. Our guide was great, very informative and helpful for first time kayakers. Definitely recommended !

This was hands-down the highlight of my vacation; while I didn't see whales on this trip (which is never the fault of any tour company!) it was still incredible. Simply being out in this environment is worth every penny, and our trip leader Avery did...More
Our guides, Jake and Victor, were great, explaining the nature of the bioluminescent noctiluca and taking us to small bays where they were plentiful. It was an unforgettable experience, allowing us an up-close view of this phenomenon. I was impressed by the quality of the...More

We had a fun ride from Friday Harbor to Roche Harbor—road was wide enough to share with cars, and the e-assist made the hills very manageable. Took 1.5 hours to get to Roche Harbor (we were pedaling at a very leisurely pace) and 1 hour to return. Wish we had hiked some of the paths at Roche Harbor, but we did have time for a great lunch outdoors at the main restaurant.

The kayaks we use are Current Design Libra XT tandem kayaks. The seats do have back support, but I would not say that have anymore support than any other tandem kayak in its class. They are comfortable kayaks, but back issues can be very specific to each individual. I would take a look at the Current Design Kayaks website and see what it looks like.
