Several plaques describe the naval radio station that was here. Also, the site of Native American salmon fishing and a light house. Easy hiking trails.

Although not the highlight of our island excursion, Cattle Point should be on your list of things to see. The most southerly point of the island proves to have some pretty stunning views albeit VERY windy when we were there.

I love to travel and usually tour by car but many bicyclists travel the highway and visit the scenic viewpoints. The hillside views of the San Juan Islands is amazing and walking to the trail head to visit the Lighthouse is a must do.

This lighthouse is boarded up, but the views are nice. Look for the very small turn out and park there and walk the path to the lighthouse. If you park in the lot past the turnout you have gone too far.

Enjoyed a picnic on the sun-warmed rocks. Saw a sea otter come up along the tide pools to sun itself. Explored the beach and small tide pools and found some small crabs running around. Your basic driftwood beach area of the Northwest.

The southernmost part of the island. It's a point of land that has a view out to some of the many other islands in the archipelago. There are many more beautiful and interesting places on the island though.

Beautiful spot with limited parking but not an issue for us. Lighthouse and surrounding area is unreal. Loved the area

Pack a picnic, park the car, walk the trail to the light house and enjoy. The view is spectacular, the sounds refreshing, the flora and fauna engaging...you'll love it. If you are lucky you might see some kayakers surfing the tidal current waves. If not,...More
