Many thanks to Brian at the San Antonio Visitors Information Center for his positive response to my telephone call. I was unable to contact the Mexican consulate in San Antonio with whom I had an appointment next week. As a last resort I called the visitors center and Brian intervened for me. He was able to contact a person who translated the message on the Consulate web site. Thanks to his effort I was saved a lot of travel time and expense. Thanks for going the extra mile for me Brian.

San Antonio Downtown visitor center across from the Alamo has overwhelming amount of information. So when we inquired about transportation and attractions, we were offered a narrated day tour bus option discounted $3 each adult ticket. It provides for unlimited get on, get off stops. The following day, we learned there was a package option combining the tour bus, riverboat cruise and the Tower of the Americas at a reduced cost of the three individually. I feel we missed out making better use of our time and money. VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT STAFF DID NOT INFORM US OF THE PACKAGE!

Dear wandaw862, Thank you for the rating us here on TripAdvisor. We appreciate you taking the time to visit San Antonio's Official Visitor Information Center and the time to provide feedback about your experience here at the visitor information center. I am concerned that you make have left your review for the wrong visitor information center. But I will try to respond the best that I can as we are The Official Visitor Information Center located across from the front of the Alamo. The consigned priced that we have with the operator of the get on, get off tour bus is greater than $3.00. In addition, The Official Visitor Information Center does not sell any of the package options that the tour operator of the get on, get off tour bus company offers directly from their "visitor center". The Official Visitor Information Center also does not sell a Tower of the Americas ticket. For these reasons, I believe you have left a review for the wrong "visitor center." I do apologize the you feel that you missed out on an opportunity to save money and time and want to apologize that you didn't receive the best customer service experience from one of the other so called "visitor centers" here in San Antonio. Our Travel Counselors at the Official San Antonio Visitor Information Center will always provide our visitors with the most economical choices for visitors to choose from! If you still believe that you purchased from my location, please contact me directly so that I can learn more details of your visit. Brian Lang, 210-244-2082, brianlang@visitsanantonio.com I hope that you’ll think of San Antonio again when you’re considering a vacation destination. Sincerely, Brian Lang, Director of Visitor Information Center

This should be your first stop if you are staying downtown. They absolutely have ALL the info and maps you'll need for your visit. Talk to the workers for inside info, they have the scoop. Nice little gift shop also.
