Attached to Marriott. Part of riverwalk enters into center of mall where there is seating like a little cafe and had a christmas tree in center of it to take pictures in front of.Visited December 2019Written January 3, 2020
- wireless_in_CAUnited States4,835 contributionsMall Next to A RiverIt was located in a prime spot at the end of the Riverwalk. Walls of windows allowed a lot of light to filter inside and gave views of the river. Also had a Lego Discovery Center and Marriott hotel. Typical stores and restaurants located inside. Not a must see when visiting San Antonio.Visited May 2022Traveled as a coupleWritten May 31, 2022
- TrailTrekker15Tallahassee, Florida3,930 contributionsGreat Location, but Hard HitWe stopped into Rivercenter Mall a couple of times while we were in San Antonio. It’s located in the heart of San Antonio with easy connections to both the Riverwalk and Alamo. There are some nice shops and box stores. Much of the mall is beginning to close down. The Macy’s was doing a close out sale. It could definitely use some fresh shopping options and a facelift. It’s not a destination, but it’s nice to go to if already in the area.Visited January 2021Traveled with friendsWritten February 22, 2021
- Tricia V1 contributionNeed bird protection on windowsI was on vacation here recently and enjoyed the general area. However, there was a horrible incident involving a bird that just made my day horrendous. You have a lot of large windows, especially on the side facing the River Walk where the boats pass through. Please add bird protection to these windows. That bird suffered a blow to the face and then was run over by one of the riverboats and died from that because I could not retrieve him out of the water in time. There are a lot of cost-effective and easy ways to prevent the unnecessary suffering and death of the local wildlife, so please bird proof your windows ASAP. Here are some organizations who can help make your mall safe for wildlife: The Humane Society of the United States PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) World Animal Protection National Audubon Society There are also many websites you can utilize to help you create bird-safe windows.Visited April 2021Written April 26, 2021
- T.F1 contributionINFORMATION BOOTH WORKERS HARRASMENT!Great mall and experience for a night out, but those people at the information booth need to stop getting in there feeling when you don't acknowledge them. I was harrased by some girl by the margaritaville restaurant. I'm busy enjoying our evening out, and for the 4th time that night, I'm being pressured into something I'm not interested in. I guess she got big MAD and continued to have an attitude and didn't like the fact that I just laughed at her. I'm sorry, but if you don't like what you're doing, maybe do something different. There's no need to get in your feelings 💯Visited February 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten February 15, 2023
- EllebeeSouthport, United Kingdom1,148 contributionsDisappointed in amount and quality of shopsI would consider myself a seasoned shopper but this was incredibly disappointing. Perhaps the departure of Macy’s has hit this place hard but the amount and quality of shops was generally poor. It is part of river walk so I suppose it’ll always have people but there’s not much to buyVisited August 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten August 7, 2023
- Ella B1 contributionThe lovely Crockett HotelOur stay at the Crockett hotel was a great experience. Belinda at the valet was very friendly and welcoming as well as Isabel from the front desk. The coffee shop was awesome! The rooms were a little dated but still cozy and comfortable. The location was everything! We will definitely be returning as well as recommending it to others!Visited April 2023Traveled with friendsWritten April 9, 2023

A big variety of shops...plenty of souvenir shops, activities for kids, and a food court. One set of escalators was not working and people were walking up them. A safety problem but the only way to get to the next level at that end. Open, bright, plenty of windows to see the Riverwalk area. Close to the Alamo so great location.Visited June 2021Written July 28, 2021

While walking around we saw parking for $7. I spent $17 here and you have to pay inside the mall. I missed the part about getting a receipt and the attendant would not provide me with one. Why have and attendant of the system is automated. Yeah, I couldn't figure that out either. Run, run as fast as you canVisited March 2014Traveled on businessWritten March 7, 2014

We are staying right across the street from this Mall. When we saw it from our 23rd floor balcony, we were excited, as from the outside, it really looks like a lovely place. It's similar to a huge glass palace with peaked roofs. But when you get up close, you see that the glass is filthy, and the paint on the doors and wood trims are peeling or missing in spots.
Once you enter, the noise is hard to take. The enclosure seems to carry sound by bouncing it off the walls. Not only that, but they play loud pounding music, which makes you unable to think. We could not wait to get out of there.
We did see the shabby and most uninteresting Food Court. Macy's is the only store there of any importance, everything else looks tacky and forlorn. Too many cheap kiosks blocking passageways. And the "Information" booth ( what a laugh!) is nothing more than pushy sales people hawking either timeshares or condos for Wyndham Hotels.

This place is a mess. We were there on June 12, 2023. There was only 1 bathroom open in the entire mall. Only one escalator was fully functioning and the elevator was out of order.

What we thought to be an exciting day of shopping and relaxation, turned out to be an eyesore with each step we took. The fun of looking and enjoying was turned off, several people kept begging for money, cigarrets, etc. We decided to buy coffee and sit outside Starbucks, big mistake-young man came up to us also asking for money or food. We soon got up and left, we have never had such terrible and scarey feelings as these. Please be careful anyone who wants to dare go to this mall. There was NO SECURITY guard to be found.
