Overview
More
You can't get more Texas than Pearl beer. This brewery is a beautiful landmark that stands out when driving on the highways around downtown. The limestone structure is now used for events, excercise classes, a culinary institute and more. You can also learn about the haunted stories surrounding it and about what was once the largest brewery in the entire state. You know it's big if it's in Texas and this is the largest of its kind.

Go see the Pearl and the Emma hotel. Very unique area and architecture. The hotel is designed to resemble the inside of the old brewery. Very nicely done. Nice enough that we plan on staying at the Emma on our next trip.

Worthwhile walking through and stopping for a visit to shop and have a meal. The Emma Hotel is particularly interesting and recommended for a walk through. Suitable for the entire family and people of all ages. Personally find it a bit 'pretentious' in terms of...More

San Antonio did a wonderful job of revamping the Pearly Brewery and area around. There is a good selection of good restaurants in the area. We ate at Nao and I recommend it. There are cute stores in the area for shopping. The Farmer's Market...More

Worth the brief Uber ride to explore the ingenious repurposing of the historic brewery into the Hotel Emma (do check out the lobby), the various restaurants & interesting shops in the district.

Beautiful architecture--incorporated some of the Old Pearl equipment into the landscape and made them into focal points/art pieces. Landscaping, apartments, riverwalk area are all beautiful and clean. Saw a farmers market, children playing in a water scape; and yoga on the green grassy square. Parking...More

This area is an amazing place to see the right way old industrial use spaces can be re-purposed to for living/entertaining/lounging to great effect versus just tearing down landmarks. I could have stayed all weekend just looking at how many of the old brewery's effects...More

This place is phenomenal! It was suggested to us by a local resident who said the tourists haven't found out about it yet. So many things to see, shop at, eat at, and drink at. Next time I'm in San Antonio, this is where I'm...More
