- ArielleMobile, Alabama142 contributionsDefinitely visit!I’m glad so many people mentioned this area to me during my time here in San Antonio. I went earlier tonight, and it was great! Very pretty architecture. Lots of food options (restaurants, bars, etc.). There were also various booths there - not sure if this is the norm or just when I was there since Fiesta starts tomorrow, but that was cool too. I got some good photography in and walked around in the area before and after eating at Southerleigh. 10/10 recommend this area to visit!Visited April 2024Traveled soloWritten April 17, 2024
- FoodieforShoreMargate City, New Jersey142 contributionsChange of Pace from RiverwalkYou must stop in and browse through the Hotel Emma as it is worth seeing. If going to the area go for the farmers market or to have lunch at one of the many restaurants. We sampled lunch at Bakery Lorraine but many of the others also looked tempting. For the bookies among you The Twig is a must visit independent bookshop. The other shops are interesting but expensive. It is a nice change from the Riverwalk. I have heard you can walk it but is at least a mile or two along a deserted portion of the riverwalk. We took Uber from Riverwalk.Visited April 2024Traveled with friendsWritten May 9, 2024
- Hermes_NL 🇳🇱Amsterdam, The Netherlands21,534 contributionsBusy but very niceWe visited the Pearl the evening before the Eclipse of 2024, it was quite busy. Still we could find a parking spot in the large garage. Enjoyed our burgers and beer from Henbit in the Foodhall. Altogether very much worth of a visit. All restaurants are outside of the regular chains, very refreshing!Visited April 2024Traveled with friendsWritten May 14, 2024
- Kelly BIowa5,487 contributionsNice place to walk aroundWe visited on a hot Friday evening in late May. We weren’t in the mood of shopping, but instead walked around the Pearl area. It’s interesting from an architectural point of view. The highlight for me was walking along the Riverwalk in the Pearl district. There’s a very pretty garden section with several small waterfalls, and the Grotto is just a short walk .Visited May 2024Traveled with friendsWritten May 25, 2024
- kunfushussPennsylvania481 contributionsSeems like the place to beThis is the place in town with the "old meets new" modern vibe. It's where the cute little bookshop is, the best new eateries appear to be, the new market is, the farmers market... this is where its at in town, and is high on my list if I make it back to San Antonio. Just block out 2-3 hours to explore, between noon (when it's opening up) and late evening. Grab a meal, people-watch, and stroll the area.Visited July 2024Traveled soloWritten July 6, 2024

Good place to hang out with multiple restauraunts and a food court. The have live music in the evenings...and parking is about $ 8 on weekends and $3 during the week. The food and drinks are expensive. We had dinner at the Best Quality Daughter restauraunt and it was excellent ! Otherwise try the food court and get a beer ! Overall after the crowds on the River Walk this was a good place to hang out for a couple of hours....but really nothing great !

The area surrounding Pearl Brewery is a great redeveloped location with several shopping and dining options, but no brewery... The nearby Hotel Emma occupies the old brewery and has incorporated several of the old brewery components into the decor of the hotel lobby and lounge. During the Spring and Summer months a farmers market is held on Saturday in the morning hours until 1pm. Most of the dinning and shopping cater to an upscale clientele, so bring your money. This is a great location to take a river shuttle and enjoy a nice meal and a relaxing day. The San Antonio Museum is nearby and an easy walk to get to.

There is really not much to do unless you just want to sit around and have a beer or eat. It is a pleasant place to relax and have a beer. There was no information center or booth to let you know where to go or what you could do. I felt like I had to walk to each place to see what was going on that day so we didn’t stay long. I had a pearl beer at one place for $5 and at the next place it was there special for $2.

I can see why you would stay at Hotel Emma
Instead of river walk.. it’s a retro industrial vibe here with excellent eats..cute shops, round house, CIA and wonderful dog /family friendly area to relax. Newer buildings blend in with old brewery metals and cat walks abs tanks turned fountains and objects of art. Wonderful
To see the ingenuity of blending old and new . Absolutely packed on a Sunday..w farmers market stalls of tomales and wine and every delicious thing you could
Imagine. The market hall was reminiscent of fanuiel hall in Boston interesting eats inside . Strolled through the hotel as well. Just wonderful . Feels local and a foodie Mecca w CIA and other hi end city type dining...zero chains at all which is always refreshing.

I wasn’t sure what to expect of Pearl but was very pleasantly surprised to find it to be vibrant and bustling with an almost overwhelming selection of different, and mostly upmarket, restaurants and cafes to choose from. The place is beautifully repurposed from a disused brewery into a dining and retail destination on the banks of the river. It was a lovely way to spend a couple of hours. For those who’ve ever visited the Granary development in London’s Kings Cross you’ll note the overlap in the concept.

The renovations to the Pearl are all very well done. The Pearl Brewery has quite a "colorful" history and we were glad that it was very well documented by pictures and captions on the walls. The bar was interesting and eclectic with plenty of unique spots to sit and share a drink with friends. We loved the look of the library, but you need to pony up the $500+\- per night to stay at Hotel Emma to enjoy that space.

We enjoyed roaming around in this area during the Christmas holidays at night. The most impressive was the lighting in the trees on the river. Just outstanding! There are many shops and restaurants to visit too in this area where the old Pearl Brewery used to be.

Pearl Brewery is great place to gather, hang out, eat, drink, exercise, and take photos. On weekends there are farmers markets, music, and other events. Pearl Brewery has a great vibe, just a lot of positive energy. The area has many places to get a meal or snack, drinks, and just lounge around. There many shops, located around the facility, many local artisans show case their work. Pearl Brewery has access to the river walk, which connects it with Downtown, as well as a stop on the bus tours. Pearl Brewery is great place to spend an afternoon or night.

The historic buildings here are so beautiful! I came expecting a single large brewery, and it turns out the buildings that used to be Pearl Brewery have now been repurposed and there are a variety of different restaurants and breweries here. The one brewery we wanted to eat at (STERNEWIRTH) required reservations unless we wanted to sit outside and it was too cold.

The Pearl Brewery is a revitalized space in San Antonio. It has a variety of amazing restaurants that use the old architecture of the brewery and a beautiful hotel. Definitely a great spot to hit when visiting. I also recommend checking out the Farmers Market on the weekends.

Where to park a RV near the Alamo for one day visit?
Written May 28, 2018
Well, I would say, Traveler's Rv is right on the River Walk. Our RV was parked in RiverWalk RV Park. There is not parking for RV's by the Alamo.
