Wonderful ,wonderful museum. Was a former residence of a rich lady who left it as museum. Has a ton of great art, sculptures, great rooms filled with interesting art. Great bathrooms as well. They open this up to the public on certain days with live music and beer available; it's very festive! A bit hilly for handicapped to access from... More

Great collection! We really enjoyed the museum. The grounds are wonderful, the building and mansion are beautiful. The craftsmanship of the mansion alone is worth the visit. We really enjoyed our visit. We borrowed the iPad for the kids but were not really impressed. The iPad art selections were not laid out in the order they are in the museum.... More

Not very stroller or young child friendly. Beautiful pieces of art and lovely architectural design and sculptures! I have lived here for years and this was a first visit. Really enjoyed the exhibits! Military and their family are free during the summer with Blue Star Family Museums!

We enjoyed the architecture, landscaping as well as the art. This trip was especially enjoyable because of the extra information that the docents offered up about the art and architecture. The film about Ms. McNay also added a lot to our understanding about her life, interest in art, her teaching art, and the building of her home. We were impressed... More

Love all the things they have for kids! We have seen dance performances and had water balloon fights outside on the lawn during family days. My sons also love to work on the upcycle crafts. If you attend and have a future Picasso with you, ask for a drawing pack for your child. They will give them a set of... More

I had not visited the McNay in years, and my first return was during one of their special events, Art ,Music, Food, and Drinks Second Thursdays. I was really unaware of the changes and expansions that had gone on here. This is a world class museum. If you want to enjoy a night out of the house, and you have... More

If there is one museum you visit in San Antonio, make sure it's the McNay! It is beautiful and the exhibits are always very interesting. You can walk inside and outside, and you can sit down and just enjoy the surroundings. We love it!!!

We were at a wedding here--outside in intense heat! The grounds are beautiful and they made the heat more bearable. The reception was inside the museum in the new space for large gatherings. It is excellent for such events! We were allowed to tour some of the collection on the first floor. It has been a few years since we... More

Attended a wedding here on the grounds and it was amazing what one could do with money back in the '20s. Very nice collection of paintings in the permanent collection. "Coney Island" was the featured exhibit and was interesting as well. If you have a free afternoon I would recommend coming and seeing the exhibits.
