Another great place maintained by the awesome National Park Service! Visitor Center staff is awesome and helpful. The park over all is great. Several missions that are worth visiting, as well as miles and miles or walking and bike paths. Some great picnic spots along the San Antonio River. Make sure you see the aqueduct. I'd also recommend seeing the... More

We saw the three major missions in one day in this area and had a lot of fun doing so. Definitely advise a visit to these if you are at all interested.

We highly enjoyed visiting all the missions. Well preserved, easy to find, beautiful - you feel like you are traveling back in time. We went during the week and there were no crowds. I highly recommend seeing all the missions - not jus the Alamo. It will give you a wonderful history of the San Antonio area.

Whenever we have out-of-town guests we make sure to bring them to San jose Mission. It has been a couple of years since our last visit. We saw the movie again, which never fails to impress us. It is extremely well done. When we went to the church, we discovered quite a bit more restoration has been done. Inside the... More

These are important historical and culture assets. The National Park Service visitor center is clearly strapped for resources. The sites themselves - owned, I believe, by the archdiocese - are in relatively good shape considering their age, but lots more could be done to stabilize the buildings and enhance the visitor experience.

My husband and I drove to the missions and were surprised to see how much history we learned about. I would recommend seeing the missions so that you can learn about the native peoples interaction with the Spaniards.

Our family had a wonderful time seeing all 4 missions that make up the San Antonio Missions National Historic Park. We visited Mission Concepcion, San Juan, Espada and San Jose in the order. We saved San Jose for last because that is where the main NPS visitor center is and our kids were participating in the Junior Ranger program. We... More

The Missions National Park is worth the trip. We loved wandering around the beautiful historic buildings and learning about the history of this area of the country.
