Read up on your history before you visit to get the full effect and experience of stepping back into time. This is a FREE attaction giving it 5 stars in my book. If you have young children, it could seem boring and the lines do...More

We had our 2 boys, ages 8 & 9, and did it on our own. They got a little bored by the end, but we had seen the IMAX movie, The Alamo, that morning, so it was even better! It is free, and there was...More

Amazing place of historic significance. As a Texan it's even more impactful. A must see. A bit smaller in person but still larger than life in the hearts of Texans and Americans alike.

This place has history but since we have younger children they aren't interested. It is a nice area to walk and look around but not for small children for very long. Great for adults who are interested in history.

We have always heard so much about the Alamo, and it didn't disappoint us! Such history to see! The grounds are beautiful to walk through also!

The line was long but to be fair this is spring break. We went in the middle of the day (2:30-300 pm). I love my many visits to the Alamo. It's free so go for a visit!

Great guided tour of Alamo tho certainly can do own your own. We combined it with tours of Mission. Guide very informative with history of Alamo. Worth the visit.

Pretty cool to visit the site. Casey has been learning about Texas in school and it was neat to see the historical site. Kids had fun visiting.

Since I live in a world full of history buffs, l looked forward to visiting the Alamo. It was crowded, and some people tended to move into your space while trying to study displays, I was not disappointed. I recommend the audio tour at least,...More

My first thought was, "wow..it's a lot smaller than I thought" -- and the town is now built up all around it - so the location really surprised me. I thoroughly enjoyed the walk around the grounds and all of the historical items still preserved...More

I went on a thursday, 5-11, and it was not busy, no line at all, there were people, but by no means a crowd. Week days are usually less crowded at attractions

We will be traveling with our 'pup dog' and it appears pets are not welcome 'inside' the Alamo. Is there a short term pet service adjacent, or close by?

Unfortunately this is not a very pet friendly area but having visited here throughout my life at times with a pet in tow, the hotels that are pet friendly understand so I suggest you leave the dog in the air conditioning... More
