Nice park. Clean. Campground itself is maintained well. I got a courtesy call the day before warning about the road into the park maybe bad due to recent rains. They offered a refund if I wanted to cancel. I have a 4x4 towing a high clearance light weight travel trailer and said I will see how it is when I get there. A camp host at my previous campground said the road dries quickly and that I should have no problems. Upon arrival, I did not have any problems but did see what they mean. A small portion just before the entrance had some deep ruts on one side but pretty decent on the right side going in.
Like others noted on campgrounds in New Mexico some of these sites can be close to each other and you can’t trust the map to guess the distance. I stayed in site one which looked to be away from the campsites to the left and right. While the one campsite was well enough away, the other was closer than expected. Not bad, I had worse. The only real complaint is not only was literally just off the road. It was right in front of the day use parking lot. While I saw the day use parking in front of me on the map and figured no big deal (and normally it wouldn’t be), not only did they let an overnight camper stay they let them run their generator during quiet hours.
Would I stay again? Yes, but while I would trust not to have the same bad luck with an inconsiderate neighbor, site one was nice but a little tricky getting my camper level. Not bad, just a bit tricky. By the way, website stated up to 24 feet and 3 vehicles, my 17 foot camper and short bed pickup barely fits.

We found this New Mexico State park to be great for a getaway or overnight stop. It is clean and well maintained with park staff present. In a wooded area, it has several short, well-marked trails for hiking. Our campsite (8) was not near the neighbors. Some sites have really nice enclosed, covered picnic tables (4, and 9 for example). We highly recommend a visit.

This.park is about 30 miles south of I-40 east of Albuquerque. It is fairly primitive with a few hiking trails some up to 2 miles long. There is an office where you can get a trail map and map of campsites. There are 37 sites, none with water. 16 sites have electric-those are $14/night. Day use fee is $5 per car. Quiet place with great smell of pine all around.

This park shaded with pine trees is clean and well maintained. Unfortunately, like most of the other New Mexico state parks we have stayed in, the camping sites are way too close together. Site 13 has the table and fire ring on the side of the parking spot that is right next to the parking spot for site 14. That table and fire ring could serve either site. Luckily we had a small portable table and chairs that we could set up on the other side of our driveway where we had some privacy. But there was no campfire for us. If you choose to camp/rv here avoid sites 13 and 14.

This campground was very well maintained, very nicely organized and perfect for our tent camping trip. We reserved online and the site was ready to go when we arrived. Very clean and primitive - just what we were hoping for. Some sites have great little picnic tables with wind/rain shelters, and typical fire pits. A cool horseshoe pit and efficient restrooms located onsite. We didn't get an opportunity to explore the trails nearby, but we'll be back to check them out. Great for a quick trip into nature from Albuquerque, only a little over an hour away.

Manzano Mountains State Park is located about 15 miles north of Mountainair, NM on Highway 55. It is a lovely campground with some hiking. Great place to relax and rejuvenate. Lots of trees. There is a dump site available on site. visit the web site: http://www.emnrd.state.nm.us/SPD/manzanomountainsstatepark.html. Reservations are accepted. The park just reopened after a couple of years closure.

Always Love going to Manzano's in R.V. Very Clean Park with Clean restrooms, Nice trails to go on. A big area that dogs can run in, They must be leashed in Park. My only wish would be that they could put more Electric spots, You must book way in advance to get & its kind of hard to get the first come first serve ones. But overall the Park is Great !! Very well taken care of by Camp Host & Ranger staff,

Great place to get away and relax, very peaceful esp. during the week days. safe with hosts and rangers. elec. sites and non elec. sites. good for rigs and tents.
clean restrooms, dump station, and fresh water faucet in the park, nice trails to walk.
small lake not too far away, have to drive there. some sites offer shelters, and all have tables.
we go there at least 2 times per year, and really enjoy it.

Newly re-opened, this park is clean as a whistle and has well marked hiking trails of 1 to 2 miles, plus a 3/4 mile Nature Walk. About 36 sites if you include the group areas. Some have shelters, some have electric. There is a dump station but no water hookups at each site. Secluded and quite. Park Ranger on site. Nearest town is about 20 minutes by car. Adjacent to Nat'l Park land in central New Mexico's Manzano Mountains. It snowed during our visit, so we appreciated the heated restrooms with toilets and sink, no showers.

How hard is it to get a RV/trailer spot at this park? I'm interested in staying for a couple of nights during September 2017 but it appears I cannot make a reservation until March 2017. Thanks!

Arrive during the week and it's pretty much wide open. If possible make reservations at Reserveamerica website
