I’ve done many food tours in cities domestically, and abroad, and this was one of the best. Their website was informational and easy to use, and they were very quick to respond by email, as well as accommodate my group’s requests for the type of tour, special requests, etc. The tours were very reasonably priced.
We did an afternoon walking tour that was approximately 2.5 hours long, and they had just opened up again with some COVID restrictions. Everyone wears a mask and maintains distance except when eating or drinking. My group of 3 were the only ones on the tour, so it felt very personalized, but I believe they are limiting groups to 10. The tour guide Karen was the owner, and she was incredibly friendly and even re-routed our tour briefly to see a site that was on my list. She provided a good amount of history without being overwhelming, and a stop at the Salem Witch Memorial park was included.
There were 4 food/drink stops, but the 2nd stop actually incorporated 4 different companies and types of culinary experiences in one, so it felt like we were exposed to more than 4 stops. All the business were professional, friendly, immaculate, and reputable in my opinion. They were smaller venues with an “off the beaten path” feel, and all had a genuine and great relationship with Karen. There were even some shop employees that walked out to the street to say hello to her as we were passing. The food was organized at all stops ahead of our arrival, and we were quickly seated and served.
What most impressed me about this tour is that Karen took pictures of us, the stops, and the food/drinks and then provided them in a Flickr account, which left us with some great memories. She also included the businesses and their website links in her email, as well as the food and drinks we tasted at each one to jog our memories if we were ordering. I actually just used it to purchase some cheese at the excellent shop she took us to.
The only thing I would’ve wanted is more time at the initial store we met at for the tour. It had great items, but I didn’t want to buy them at the start of the tour and carry them around for 2.5 hours, and they weren’t open when the tour ended, and we were only in Salem for the day. It would’ve been great to end at that store with time to browse before closing.
Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this company, as I’m sure they are as attentive, detailed, and passionate about all their tours. The photos and list of stops that Karen emailed afterward were definitely the special touch that made this tour stand out among the others I’ve done. Thank you to Karen and her team for a job well done!

Karen did such a wonderful job with every aspect of the tour! I couldn’t even decide my favorite part because everything we did was great. She made us feel so welcomed in Salem, and took us to places we’ve never seen before. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in food/wine/history in Salem, and it is priced at a very reasonable rate for all the amazing stuff we did. It was also very nice to have all the places we went to in an email for that we could remember to go to them later. Thank you to Karen and the other tour guides for being awesome!

This was our fourth time visiting Salem and I can say this tour was a refreshing departure from all the Halloween-witch/ghost tours. We learned so much. My favorite part was the spice place - perfect for a foodie like me! Karen our tour guide was so friendly and knowledgeable. We got some great recommendations on eateries, architecture and art we will definitely be checking out on our next visit! Travel tip: book early if you’re going during the peak season. And try to take the tour early in your stay so you have some time to check out all the places outside the tour stops they recommend.

Great touring experience for groups. Our groups (one on Tuesday and another on Wednesday) were greeted and welcomed by Karen and Mark at FINZ Restaurant on Pickering Wharf where the groups had lunch. Both Karen and Mark boarded our chartered bus. Karen directed our driver throughout the bus touring route, while Mark provided us with a wonderfully entertaining and informative tour of historic Salem. This was not a Food Tour. Instead, it was a customized sightseeing tour of Salem personally crafted by Karen for our groups' enjoyment. We were able to see most of Salem's significant landmark attractions and learn about the city's fascinating history. They were the best guides I have ever had the pleasure of working with during decades of travel and tourism operations.

My Mom and I took a girls trip to Salem in early October and the afternoon stroll food tour was the HIGHLIGHT of our experience!
Karen was a fantastic host, from answering questions before booking to the tour, her fun and organized nature on the tour, and the variety of stops on the tour, all showed how much detail she put into planning.
The group size was perfect (for reference it was a weekday in Oct) and the amount of history on the tour was nice. She still touches on the witch history in salem but more importantly she expands into other areas such as the spice trade which is a breath of fresh air in a city where everything is centered around the trials.
Simply put: Book this tour, any time of year! If I come back to Salem, you bet I'll be booking with Salem Food Tours!

Karen was so lovely and considerate during my boyfriend and I's tour! It was dreadfully hot and humid for when we originally had our tour scheduled, so she offered to reschedule us later in the week for when it was cooler. She also adapted the tour for us on the fly when she learned we weren't 21 and therefore couldn't do the wine tasting.
She was so friendly and personable and was really a highlight of our trip! We learned of so many cool places to eat and brought home some good snacks. She recommended so many places for us to eat and sent an email with all of the places we visited with links, and even some pictures she took too! Can't recommend her tour enough!!

This tour was hands down the best thing we did in Salem! Karen was engaging, knowledgeable, accommodating, and a fantastic host. It’s clear she loves her town and has a passion to share its food and history with others. Everything we had was outstanding. Special shout out to The Cheese Shop and their Aussie Magic cheese!

Karen did a great job for us at a recent fund raising event. Her effervescent personality is the perfect pairing with sparkling wines and glowing candle light. Just the right blend of nailing the details before hand, then switching on the magic touch of charm and savvy to entertain and delight our guests. There are a lot of moving parts to these events and Karen handled everything with wit, grace and humor while keeping her eye on the bottom line so that our non-profit benefited from the event. I have heard that her food tours make a great holiday gift or family event.

Don’t have your plans set yet?!?! Then book the coffee walk upon arrival or the later food walk. We were given a great layout of the city (best one so far). We were given a million wonderful food suggestions for any type of food you may be craving. Do you have any food limitations/allergies/preferences? No problem, she knows where you can go within walking distance. You also get a good amount of Salem history, both witch trial and spice trade. Had I known how helpful this tour was, I would have booked it first!!! Last but not least, after you take the tour, several of the suggested locations she points out will give you a discount!!!

How many of the stops on the Food Tour are sit down stops. And how many are standing. I am fine walking but need to sit it down occasionally Thank you in advance!

Helllo! Thank you for your interest in our Tours. Our regular Food Tour provides historical information on our illustrious Spice Trade History. Our AM Coffee Walks are more of a history tour, giving good overview of Salem's history, including early settlers, Witch Trials, spice trades as well as information on modern Salem's thriving culinary and cultural scene.
