Fun to look at shops and people watch. Often something is happening, whether it's music or street entertainers or the beginnings of the Cry Innocent performance or Steve the vampire.

We spent three days shopping the stores here. We especially loved the Flying Monkey. Her t-shirts are truly unique and I bought several of them. One note of caution ... in this sleepy little town most places do not post store hours and they sometimes just don't open at all. So if you see a store open go in because... More

I was rather impressed by the variety of shops and restaurants along the walkway. Sections of Salem (from the drive in) didn't look so good, but here there seems to be the mix of classic tourism, the local occult, and plenty of opportunity for people-watching. But do watch out for the characters who may try to "grab" you just when... More

My boyfriend and I love coming to this part of Salem. We tend to park across from the Armory, parking rates are very reasonable there and you're in the heart of the street right across from the Peabody Essex Museum (PEM - which is worth a visit). In the spring on a nice day, the stroll is very pleasant and... More

There are al lot of cool things to see. But their are peddlers that are very pushy. After being told no thank you they got very rude. Not cool with the wife and kids.

Whomever is responsible for the maintenance of the mall interior, is failing hard! NONE of the bathrooms had toilet paper; men or women. If you had the misfortune to even find the bathroom, as it is not clear in the slightest where they are, it is filthy! Be sure to swing by a resturant to grab some napkins, just in... More

It is a really nice place. I would love to come back during Halloween time. Need to stay at least 2 days to see everything.

If you are a fan of old buildings and little shops this a good place for you. No cars to disturb your walk and a fairly pleasant place to wonder around (except the fall). September and October are quite hectic in Salem. It is a very popular tourist destination around that time of the year. In the beginning of October... More

There is minimal activities here. The shops that we walked past were nothing to get excited over. It was pretty much just a stroll
