Capture the historic spirit of Salem's yesteryear on this award winning, daily, 90-minute walking tour. Hear stories of intriguing people, discover the truth about Salem's infamous Witch Trial Hysteria, experience the authentic story of Salem's most notorious murder, and find out what locations were used in the movie Hocus Pocus.

More than fifteen stops dot the tour route, including Salem's old jail -- a one-time residence for the Boston Strangler, the site of the Old Witch Gaol (prison), the Witch Trial Memorial, the field where Giles Corey was pressed to death, and the cemetery where a Witch Trial magistrate is buried.

We hunted for a good, historical activity in Salem, and found Hocus Pocus through TripAdvisor. We started out by reading the bad reviews - of which there are few - and then the wonderful, intelligent responses from the owner. We were impressed by her and her well-deserved confidence in her company and so decided to book with them. This tour... More

Susan and Richard were wonderful. Both shared their extensive knowledge of Salem and not just the witch hysteria of 1692...lots more. We had actually toured parts of the route we would take with Susan and Richard and to be honest, we were quite tired and had lost most of our energy by tour time. However, Susan's delivery of information that... More

Susan and her husband were incredibly accommodating and kind. They were very knowledgeable about the history of the city as well as the witch hysteria of 1692. Great city, great food at an Irish pub in the main street in town as well. Tour was 90 minutes long. Great day or half day trip from Boston.

My wife and I have always wanted to visit Salem M.A. to learn about the fascinating history of the witch trails. After searching through many touring agencies, we decided to go with the Hocus Pocus Tour and that turned out to be the most amazing 90 minute historic tour we have had our entire life. Susan and Rich were extremely... More

I was traveling solo in Salem, excited to research my families connection to one of the victims of the 1692 Witch Trials. Needless to say, I was thrilled to have booked this tour. Susan and Rich were absolutely gracious hosts, offering hand and toe warmers to keep us warm throughout our walk and making sure I knew my way back... More

I loved walking around town and finding out the history behind different buildings and spots. We had a 11 and 8 year old with us. I was hoping they would get into the story but they did not even though my 11-year old was the one who found this tour and really wanted to do it. So, even though the... More

I've been on this tour twice now. I recommend it to all my friends visiting the Boston area and to all my Airbnb guests. If you only do one thing in Salem, take this tour. It's the most interesting and informative activity you can do and the guides are excellent!

When we saw that most attractions in Salem were closed in December, we should have taken the hint and not gone. Instead we went on the only tour offered at the end of December and was disappointed. They only did the tours in the evening and it was very cold. My kids (in their 20's) were hoping they would be... More

Susan M, Owner at Hocus Pocus Tours, responded to this review

Dear Cheryl, I’m sorry that my tour did not live up to your expectations. If I remember correctly, you left the tour, so, unfortunately, you missed multiple stops that contained specific information on the Witchcraft victims. For example, you missed stops towards the end of my tour, The Burying Point Cemetery, and the Witch Trials Memorial, which allows me to... More
