With the sun setting and a stiff breeze kicking up - this spry little schooner makes way smartly, silently through Salem Harbor past historic lighthouses, million-dollar homes, rock outcroppings and tiny islands. It is always good to see and experience the world from the sea. Fame is the perfect vessel for such.

Thank you for saving history and making it fun for the whole family! We booked the Fame for our family and had a great experience. Thanks to Captain Mike, his family and crew for a fun and relaxing time. We enjoyed assisting the crew sailing the Fame and learning how to read the wind and sails. We also enjoyed learning... More

We had an enjoyable schooner ride in Salem harbor on a beautiful June afternoon. The replica schooner Fame was an awesome trip, with great views of Salem, the harbor and nearby islands. Along the journey Captain Mike gives you an informative and eloquent history of the Fame and its impact with Salem history and the War of 1812. Also when... More

We went twice in the last year. The ship is beautiful, the crew is friendly and gives excellent service. The snacks+drinks(alcohol also)are surprisingly reasonably priced. The captain's narration is interesting and not in the least intrusive. You're free to move about the ship to take in the stunning views. We sailed an mid July on the 6PM departure. Not quite full sunset but warm colors toward the... What a great trip. Everything went great. Met on board with the crew upon arrival. Captain spoke about the sailing craft, its history, etc. They have a book onboard telling the story of how the boat was made. Crew was very friendly and answered any and all questions the guests had. Drinks are served (beer, etc.) and soft drinks. Sail... More

We had a lovely 4th of July day tour on Fame.To start, the Fame was not a full boat, so there was plenty of time and space to talk with the crew. The Captain allowed our 14 yr old to assist with raising the sails, then steering the boat using the rudder. He loved it, and loved the interactive dialog... More

This was one of the highlights of our trip to Salem, MA. My husband and I both had a wonderful time on Fame. The captain and crew were very friendly, very helpful and informative. We were warned before hand that there may not be enough wind to sail but since we were only in town for another night Captain Mike... More

This was to be the highlight of our second honeymoon and it did not disappoint. What a wonderful trip. We were out for about 2 hours. You motor out of the harbor and then volunteers can come and help hoist the sails. I did not do this because of a bad knee, but later I got to steer the ship.... More

I took the 12PM tour ... the captain and his 2 shipmates gave us an enjoyable 90 minute ride into Salem harbor, showed us the coastal sites of Marblehead and Beverly, and also gave us a short history of the Fame vessel. They had extra jackets on board so they're prepared if the wind/cold picks up while you're on the... More

I absolutely loved this!!! Watching the crew work the sails and turn us by them was awesome. The crew was nice and very informative. Its about 2 hours long and you can purchase drinks ( beer, wine, etc.). It was also priced very reasonable. If you get the chance while in Salem do this. The ship is beautiful.
