Such a beautiful area! Lots of people out enjoying nature. The bikers we met up with were all courteous...we just pushed over to let them through. Bring water! FYI: no garbages to put your doggy poop bags afterwards. Really enjoyed the beautiful views. Fairly easy...More
We hiked about 5 miles on a very well marked trail system. The trail is in good shape and there are many options. An abundance of cactus. Not much elevation change but not flat - gentle hills. Beautiful landscape including wildflowers and only a few...More
This is a really lovely area that is close to town, offers numerous hiking trails of various lengths and spectacular views of the beautiful saguaro cactus, desert scapes and the nearby mountains.
Hiking trails can be strung together to create a loop of whatever length...More
Trails are well marked and easy to navigate--but the place is spoiled by rude mountain bikers who think they own the trails. Would it hurt you to SLOW DOWN to give hikers a chance to step off the trail safely? Would it hurt you to...More
You want to see a lot of the big cacti? This is the place! Parts are more like a forest than a desert. In addition to the Saguaro, you'll also see a wide variety of other Sonoran fauna. I'd give it five stars, but I...More

Many hikers every...More
The sweet water preserve has some very fun trails that are technical but have young and old enjoying them. The Preserve is in the Tucson mountains and has some of the most beautiful display of desert to explore
Fun, scenic trails, cacti all around! Desperado loop was perfect for beginner level riders, Saguaro Vista was rockier and a little more challenging but great views and lots of fun, various loops to connect to, all well signed. Southwest Trekking met us at the trailhead...More

This is a county park and they do not charge nor require a pass. If you go to the country website, there is a trail map that you can print, but the trail map sign at the trail head is much better because each of the different trails are in color. I'd print the trail map from the website just to have, but I took a picture of the trail map sign and used this in conjunction with the printed trail map.
