The Pima Canyon Trail begins in a neighborhood at the Iris O Dewhirst Trailhead. The beginning is a little rocky, but fairly flat and easy. The views are really pretty. The end is pretty overgrown and too many ferns for my liking, but I would...More

A standard wonderful Tucson hike, some altitude gain and not much water (always bring some, or a lot in the heat). Not wheelchair accessible nor for those with balance, endurance or orthopedic problems. It's and in and out hike so go far as you like...More

Great easy to follow trail with some good views and wonderful scenic adventure. Love this trail for a good workout. Hot in the summer though at the low levels. Some nice historical sites halfway up. Enjoy a really intense hike on the Traverse.

For a quick hike head to Pima Canyon north of town. Go early because it gets hot mid day and take plenty of water. Enjoy the cacti and watch out for snakes.

I have hiked Pima Canyon many times. It is a good workout, climbing up the mountain, until you drop into the canyon. Usually the creek is dry, which helps when hiking. Hike to the end and back in one day. Or head up the mountain...More

We went at sunrise and watched Tucson awaken! Views were stunning! My kids are 9 & 12 and we do medium difficulty hikes & consider this medium at certain points. Dressed in layers since it started off cool & ended warm. Definitely a must do...More

Never did find the dam but enjoyed all the scenery around us. Nice short day hikes! Go early to avoid the afternoon sun.

I've done many hikes around Tucson. This is one of my least favorite. The early trail offers some fine views of Tucson. Then there is a great deal of trail through the scrub and limited views either forward or backward. You have to go quite...More
