4th Av on a Monday

Not sure how this got 4 stars. To us, it looked like Covid killed the art stores there. Nothing was open, the phone numbers we tried were disconnected and some store addresses were empty. Yeah, there's a lot of bars and some restaurants still open, but the shopping part of the equation was depressing.

Super boring street with super boring stores. Super liberal businesses and people. Not for us. Couldn’t wait to leave. I don’t want a tattoo and don’t want to get drunk at 10 am. I also don’t want a book that teaches my baby how to be an activist. Not interested in homeless people pandering or weirdos with dreads and backpacks checking me out. I thought it would be like the main drag of many other downtowns or city squares but it was sketchy and woke. Skip.

Boring conservative adults should avoid this vibrant street.

This is a great shopping, dining, and drinking area if you're not a boring conservative. It has all the things that Trumpettes hate, like nice shops that don't discriminate, delicious food venues, bohemian clothing stores, tattoo parlors, bars, and restaurants with both classic & innovative dishes.

Run down and shabby
Feb 2021 • Couples
I agree with many of the other reviews that this place is overpopulated with bars and tattoo parlors. There are a few interesting stores, but it’s not the destination that it’s promoted to be. If you have low expectations, you will be fine. I wouldn’t recommend or go again.

Overrated & Dumpy
Dec 2020 • Family
We were looking forward to coming here due to the historical significance. Upon arriving we were instantly disappointed. It’s a run-down dump with no variety. Every other establishment is a tattoo parlor or bar (which isn’t bad - but certainly not what we were expecting here). Walking along the sidewalks you’ll inhale the smell of alcohol drenched urine and drugs of various scents.

Maybe in my younger years this would be the place to go at night. But when you’re looking for history and traveling along with a family, it’s sad to see. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Cute shops, good places to eat

A nice walk down the street with lots of different shops from books to souvenirs to card-reading. Also little cafes and eateries.

Fun little stretch of businesses. We found a great bar, Che’s and enjoyed the afternoon there.
Lots of excellent people watching!

Downright scary
Jan 2020
We were told by some locals that 4th Avenue was the place to go to shop. Really? It was horrible. The street is lined on both sides with shops, lots of tattoo parlors, restaurants, pubs and breweries. That sounds great but it was like the city tried to "reinvent" the area and they failed miserably. It's a rundown and dumpy street. None of the shops were worth going into. All were overpriced. You have to park on side roads unless you take the trolley that runs down the middle of the street. The scary part was being screamed at and approached by many homeless people for money. I was actually followed by a guy who was screaming threatening things at me. We also saw a fight going on between two guys who were upset over something. We left shortly after we got there.

Tired and old....not me, the avenue. A few interesting shops but not nearly enough. I’m sure when they have the street fairs or festivals it’s a lot of fun and worth your time but right now there’s not enough there. The Old Artisans building on Court Street has some great local crafts and one of a kind items.

Massive!

The timing allowed has to be in Tucson for this biannual event! Nothing prepared us for the extent of the fair and the quality of the booths!
