Best mass in town

Father Gonzalo Villegas mass is the best one in town. The cathedral is beautiful inside and outside.

This church is very pretty inside but not a place I would want to go for sight seeing. It is a place for reflection and religious service.

take a quick stop here for a look at the interesting architecture of this large cathedral. then peek inside a moment at the satined glass and wall murals. as in europe, some of the best quality artwork is right inside the cathedrals of each town.

Basic ornate cathedral that is nicely maintained. Grounds are tranquil. Disappointed that no candles were offered for pray nor a more appealing gift area.

Awesome ! Church was refurbished, walls are covered with murals of modern day saints- Mother Teresa of Calcutta and Elizabeth Seaton near the entrance. Church is bright and glowing. What a nice Basilica.

What a beautiful representation of the Tucson architecture. The contrast with the southwestern sky is breathtaking.

Was fortunate enough to visit on a Sunday, so we attended mass. The inside is not overly ornate, but still maintains an understated beauty. The outside of the cathedral is gorgeous and the grounds are immaculate Worth the short drive even if you can't go in.

Truly beautiful, inside and out. Yes, many times the gates and most entrances are closed, except during mass. Sadly, this is more of reflection of the outside world than the cathedral as the cathedral isn't immune to thefts and vandalism. Nonetheless, for those plan accordingly, a visit is certainly worth the effort.

Sad to report that this 'cathedral' is generally locked up, except when there is a mass scheduled. Not inviting to visitors who simply show up. Their attempt at refinishing or updating the inside of the building is also quite disappointing - using wallpaper paste-on instead of (hand) painting...and the outside paint job is already cracking or discolored. Was able to walk around the exterior of the building but not inside and some of the outside was gated off so you can't get real close to all of it, but what you can inspect is quite beautiful. A great architectural masterpiece in the Southwest style. Great Roman Catholic statuary as well.
