1) Bill the venue as primarily having Insect and Shark displays; not as a Planetarium.
2) Provide the Planetarium Docent with improved sound amplification equipment.
3) Require the Planetarium to record her next presentation and then listen to herself. She speaks too rapidly, fails to clearly enunciate, and has a high timber voice. Very difficult to follow.

Hi David! We're so glad you came by. We are both a science center and planetarium, so we take the opportunity in our exhibit halls to reveal the marvels of our universe from earthly wonders to the farthest reaches of space. Many science centers with planetariums have exhibits that go beyond space. Our planetarium hosts a wide variety of shows. About half of these explore astronomy and space and the other half dive into science and life science topics. We strive to give our guests many options when visiting. We'll hope you'll come give us another try and we welcome your feedback. Thank you!

My husband and I came for the Tucson Night Sky show. The presenter was fantastic - he really knew his stuff and he was enthusiastic about sharing the content. The visual effects are very well done. We learned a lot and had a great time. The only draw back (not enough to dock a star though :) was having young children in the audience. I am a mom and I understand wanting to bring kids to this show or having older kids who want to see it and the younger ones are along. However, it really took away from the experience with small children crying and fussing. A suggestion would be to limit the age to 10+.

We didn't get to see it. We could find absolutely no parking within a three block radius. I don't mean that there were no empty spaces. Rather, every single space is either marked reserved or requires some kind of "passport" pass to use it, excluding us. I have no idea where to park to visit this site. Perhaps there is a distant parking garage on campus. Not worth the hassle.

The planetarium movie on Mars was interesting and the moderator was knowledgeable. The moderator could have been more engaging.
The gem and mineral area is being moved and was almost empty - disappointing.
The rest of the center was good. The shark display was very well done.

We took our 3 year old to see the shark show and exhibits. She loved all of it and we thought it was cool too. Looking forward to the next exhibit.

My husband took our 9yo daughter to the shark exhibit and also saw the 3D show. They returned later in the evening to see the laser show and loved all of it. She accidentally left her headband and a little stuffed animal in the theatre. I sent them an email and not only did they find the items, they shipped them back to us in WA state.

Great place to spend an afternoon. The University of Arizona features a wonderful permanent Mineral display, and at the moment "A Modern Gem and Jewelry Collection" is on display featuring some impressive jewelry designers and their works of "art". The science centre also provides lots of interactive displays for children. If you are interested in viewing more than one film in the Planetarium, Saturday and Sunday gives you the most options. If you go on a Sunday parking is free, but hours of operation are shorter (12 pm to 5 pm).

We visited here for the second time and it was fantastic. The collection of minerals are one of the most beautiful things that I have ever seen, The colors are incredible and their shapes and varieties are also great. The curator was there when we visited and he was very helpful and gave us lots of interesting information. The exhibit is very well organized with a lot of depth to it. There was something extraordinary about the minerals and their beauty and colors that it just does not seem possible that it could be replicated by humans. I went with my 11-year-old son and he also liked the minerals as well as other parts of the Science Center.

We went for Earth day. It is a nice, small, quaint planetarium and museum. Everyone was very friendly. It does have a great mineral display which did not appeal to my 6-year-old at all. They have a small sea exhibit and the girl who was managing it was very knowledgeable and she really took her time to talk to my son. He really enjoyed it. They also had a bug exhibit. Not sure if those were permanent or for Earth day. Anyway, even with my U of A discount thought it was really pricey for what there is. That is the only down size.

Hi Haley,
Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you and your son had a good visit! And we always appreciate hearing back from our visitors.
And I'm sorry you felt it was too costly for the experience. Did you take advantage of the Earth Day Weekend discount of $4 admission per adult, $3 per child? We work hard to deliver a great experience even though we're not as big, square-footage wise, as some Science Centers in larger cities.
Did you get to see a planetarium show?

TripAdvisor said this is free, but the website says it's $14... WHich is it?

It's $14 for the general public, and seniors/military/veterans with ID are $10.
There are parking meters along adjacent streets if you don't want to pay for garage parking.
