Well worth a stop when in Tucson!
I went here with a friend during our recent trip to Tucson. Not knowing what to expect, I was pleasantly amazed. As the name indicates, everything is in miniature. It is amazing to see the detail in the doll houses and displays. This reveals a whole different genre of art and hobby. Well worth stopping. Plenty to see from all over the world. I never knew that this was an art form. Every exhibit is amazing!

So impressive what some people can do!
The attention to detail throught this place is astonishing as well as fascinating. Until visiting the time machine, I'd never considered miniatures as an art form, but here it is. If you have the time and attention span, you could spend hour upon hour studying the artistry, skill, and detail of these exhibits.

Many tourist venues were closed on Tuesdays so wandered in as one of the few options for a Tuesday. A visitor leaving while entering was remarking ‘That was fantastic! I didn’t expect to enjoy it that much!’ Which sums up my experience. A wide variety of styles in miniature from imaginative fairies to historically accurate recreations of streets (now demolished) and houses. It is reasonably close to the Tucson Botanical Garden so possible to visit both in one day.

    For Miniature lovers
If you are a mini enthusiast you MUST go. Our timing gave me only an hour- boo hoo. Plan on at least two hours. It is very well thought out museum where the minis are excellently displayed. There were two special exhibits when I was there- fascinating. It’s a bit hard to find but persevere. There is a bench inside if not everyone wants to go in ( my husband).

Brought my grandkids here on a hot day in Tucson to do something indoors. Unfortunately they weren't very impressed. They are 10 and 13, so maybe smaller kids would find it more fun. This museum is basically a doll house museum and we walked thru the whole place in about 45 minutes. They did have a scavenger hunt to look for fairies around the museum, which did entertain them a bit, but it really wasn't enough.

We loved this place! We spent about three hours because we read every placard on each exhibit. We kept saying how amazing each display was and then, when you turn a corner, there’s something more astonishing. The time and skill these artists put into making miniatures is mind boggling!

If you're just not terribly into Doll Houses, you might be a little disappointed. But if doll houses are your thing, this is the place for you. These displays are really amazing, the time and work and attention to detail These are some great works of art. Having said that it wasn't me or my wife's thing and we were just going to have something to do waiting to check into our hotel .

This place is sooooo humbling. The talent these artist have is amazing. I wish I could tell you my favorite part, but every exhibit was superb. Cost my wife and I less than $20. Best money spent in a long time. We will be back to take some friends soon. Only takes 2-3 hours to go through all the exhibits on your own. As great as we found it, I really don't think kids would appreciate it though.

This museum is amazing. All the miniatures and collections on display are quite unique and took a lot of time and exact precision to make. It takes a couple of hours to really enjoy the exhibits. I enjoyed the sculptures on the eye of a needle and the pencil head carvings; such detail.

This is a wonderful small museum full of miniatures gathered from throughout the world and time. Such talented people! Doll houses and window boxes. I was really impressed with the displays and the flow of the building. Has small gift shop.

Our family enjoyed almost two hours at the Museum of Miniatures in Tucson. We could have stayed much longer as there were so many exhibits! Our five year old granddaughter was ready to go after and hour or so, but her older sister could have stayed several hours. The doll houses from all over the world were exquisite; they were our favorite part of the museum. The staff was very pleasant and informative.

We've been talking about visiting the museum for a while now and glad we finally visited! The level of detail and quality of workmanship was exceptional. The newer works showed so much finesse, but the displays dated in the 17 and 1800s were a spectacular site to see. To have been preserved somewhere for so long is amazing. We will be going back in the near future because one cannot absorb all the fine details in one visit. As I looked at some of the pictures I'm posting I see things that I didn't notice during our visit! Amazing!!! I highly recommend visiting The Mini Time Machine Museum of Miniatures in Tucson.

We both love miniatures and we’re looking forward to this one. Their current special exhibit of sculptures so tiny they are in or around the eye of a needle! Can’t imagine the steady hand required to do this work! There were also a couple of pencils with carvings into the lead. Lots of dollhouses, miniatures in silver, and a huge Christmas Village. Only complaint (and we heard other museum goers echo our thoughts while there) is that most of the exhibits were quite dark and would be much more impressive if they had some lighting! The dollhouse place in St Louis is very impressive.

We were in the area to do outdoor things but managed to work in a visit to this museum. When we first drove up, we realized that this was way beyond what we were expecting. Wow! We were very surprised by the impressive building and parking lot (we were expecting something smaller and more along the lines of in strip mall or the basement of someone's house). I have been to a couple of mini museums before..as I love mins and this one is truly superb. The museum is large and extensive. The layout is well done and the items on display are awesome..something for everyone. It is really a great place to visit and the displays are well done and informative. Loved it!
