Enjoyed the beautiful setting
Apr 2021 • Couples
This museum was well laid out. Each room represented a different theme for the artist. I had never heard of DeGrazia so really appreciated all the interesting details of his life along with seeing and hearing his views of his work. You really need to explore the compound to fully appreciate this museum. There is a nice courtyard where you can wander amount the cacti with a fountain. To the left of the museum is a church, little space for visiting artists, and his original house tucked in the back. If you plan to watch the video (recommended) this should take 1.5 to 2 hours.

Sublime tempera exhibit. I love this gallery!
Mar 2021
The curator of this wonderful gallery has reached a new level of excellence with the celestial and tempera exhibits. I am in love with DeGrazia’s tempera paintings! I never saw them before in any publication or anywhere and they are stunning. If only some could be offered for sale as reprints or notecards. This entire gallery has a spiritual feeling. It is calming, peaceful and happy. Each exhibit area is thoughtfully and creatively laid out, the frames used to display the paintings are exquisite. I never tire of visiting this gallery each time I come to Tucson. A very high recommend for its superb art and beautiful grounds and gardens.

The Little Gallery in the Sun
Mar 2021
I love this place! I am drawn to the Mission; however, this weekend I went to the Little Gallery next to it and happened upon the Christopher Andrews Exhibit and found so many favorites. His works, however different each one was, have a certain consistency that could only reflect upon someone who creates from the heart. An endearing mix of the Southwest and American Heritage along with whimsy, beauty and elegance yet the vibrancy of the colors and pride in his subjects draw you in. My favorite was his unique print of Frida Kahlo, a must see, he even signed it for me!

Main staffperson not COVID-safe. Otherwise a wonderful place; go when safe
Feb 2021
The grounds are BEAUTIFUL and such a special place. I can't give the gallery a better rating, though, because we couldn't get in to see it. We're in a global pandemic and despite all standard and reasonable COVID rules, THE CLERK WAS NOT WEARING A MASK. That's a no-go for safety. We could not approach her to purchase tickets or anything from the gift shop, as we were planning to do. Therefore, we strolled the outdoor (safe) areas of the property then left. Very disappointing. All other grounds people and patrons were masked, safe, and friendly.

Enjoyable, quiet afternoon
Jan 2021
We stopped in at this gallery one afternoon. It was not at all crowded, so we were able to take our time strolling through the gallery and grounds. There is a short video that plays on a continual loop giving good background information. There is a charge to view the gallery and grounds...I believe it was about $10.

Beautiful adobe structures....with a bit of history about DeGrazia and his life.
Jan 2021
Didn’t think I would enjoy this as much as I did....yes, it’s a gallery of his art, but also a story of his life in a lovely setting. I actually enjoyed a lot of his art works....and wandering through the complex was nice...including his home and the chapel.

I love DeGrazia . His paintings are so attractive!

It is sad that he is not eith us anymore.

We saw where he worked his paintings. He had a spider nearby.

He also liked his cacti. He loved being with the cacti.

We also saw his house.

His paintings were gorgeous!

He liked to paint about Jesus.

Clowns, churches, Music, horses, children and way more.

He was a fantastic painter. Wow!

The gorgeous paintings of DeGrazia
Mar 2020
The Grazia Gallery in the Sun Museum is great to see the paintings of DeGrazia.

We were able to see all his paintings. It was beautiful. We could take pictures of all paintings.

We even saw where he worked when he painted.

We visited his cacti garden.

We even went in his home.

He even made a place to pray.

It was amazing!

The gallery is a walk through history
Apr 2020
We missed it this year because of COVID 19. I love going through the gallery, taking in some southwester history through the eye and art of Ted DeGrazia. The style of gallery enhances the exhibits and the experience.
