About
The WaterFront Center (WFC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Oyster Bay, New York. We provide access to the waters of Oyster Bay Harbor and Long Island Sound through our marine education programs, recreational and instructional sailing programs, paddleboard, kayak and sailboat rentals, and through harbor tours aboard our National Historic Landmark oyster sloop CHRISTEEN.

My friends and I had a wonderful Sunset Cruise on Wed with the Waterfront Center. I couldn't be more impressed with the friendly crew. They shared great stories about the areas we toured and the history too. The boat itself was large and clean. We brought some cheese and crackers and it was easy to find a place to spread it out. The kids loved it and even got to take time at the wheel. Such a wonderful way to spend sunset and see some beautiful parts of the northern coast of Long Island. I would highly recommend this cruise and hope to make it back out there again in a few weeks. Great value for the money too.

Great way to spend some quality time with the kids. Took my 10 & 8 year olds kayaking. not every place rents to kids so this was a treat to find such a close place to home.
Staff was helpful when i needed cords to tow my 8 year old that got tired, helpful with keeping things organized and making sure people had their masks on the whole time until they got in the kayak. Great experience overall.

This is a beautiful part of the world and right here on Long Island. The team was wonderful - each careful and concerned - about safety and my experience.

I booked the sunset cruise at the beginning of April for July 12th my wedding Anniversary. About ten days before the scheduled cruise I received a call from the Waterfront Center canceling my cruise date. They told me they now had a private event for that day and had to cancel everyone. I really don’t understand why they can book you, take your money and then they get a better offer so they cancel everyone on that date. They offered a gift card, book another date or a refund. I chose the refund and would never book another cruise with them again. We were so looking forward to this sunset cruise and were very disappointed, they ruined our special day.

First, the Water Front center crew is friendly and professional. Everything is clean and working smoothly. You can know more about the center through their beautiful displayed website. The WFC crew communicates with you in a timely manner to modify any schedule if natures does not collaborate with safety rules. You will not regret to visit the sound at Oyster Bay or walking the neighborhood. Come and check it out by yourself. Sunrise and Sunset is breathtaking!

We had a fantastic time kayaking last weekend. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We did not realize we had drifted and someone came out to let us know where to go. We would definitely go again and maybe try paddle boarding

I did my Safety Sail yesterday in preparation for the upcoming season. I enjoy renting a Sonar and going out with our family and dog for a few hours on weekends. It appears they have a bunch of brand new 10' and 11' stand up paddle boards so I can't wait to take those out. All around fantastic facility.

We arrived a little early to sign in and enjoy the views of the bay and park. The two girls at the entrance were friendly and attentive. We met Liz (our instructor) and she was awesome, an extremely knowledgable sailor with tons of racing experience, not to mention a great sense of humor. We were on the "Boom Boom" with two other ladies and it was awesome everyone had a chance to partake in the adventurous tasks! We learned a lot from Liz and had an absolutely wonderful time! I recommend this to anyone looking for an enjoyable lesson! They also offer paddle boats, kayaks, and sailing cruises.

This is a best kept secret on Long Island! We were just lucky to book this 2-hour cruise when another night was posted to a sold-out summer! You can help raise the sail at the start of this cruise! The Captain shared interesting and historic information about the homes and bay. Fish were jumping and yachts were sailing as Mother Nature displayed a beautiful sunset during this picture perfect evening! Neighboring restaurants provide discounts if you take this cruise so be sure to ask for the discount card available at the Waterfront Center. You can bring water and snacks. Just remember to be environmentally responsible and have a way to carry all of your trash off of this historic boat. A light jacket or sweatshirt might be needed for the return. Both the young and the old enjoyed this evening!

Great place to rent kayak's and tool around Oyster Bay with the kids. They also rent out paddle boards and small boats, as well as offering sailing courses. Rental fees are quite reasonable and you pay by the hour. Great place for family activity.

We provide life jackets for all of our program participants and paddle renters. The best place to park will probably be the OB Train Station which is also called Fireman's Field.

We are open seven days a week beginning May 23, Tuesday - Sunday from 9am to 8:00pm and Mondays 9am - 5:00pm. Hope to see you out on the water soon!
