The lighthouse is a long drive from pretty much anywhere. It’s way up there. But it’s worth it. The lighthouse itself is well maintained and parking is easy. The views over the body of water are amazing. It’s a great spot.

Took a trip to Lubec, ME to see this lighthouse and Roosevelt’s cottage in nearby Nee Brunswick. Got to the light just as the sun was setting and so I was able to see the light functioning which was a treat. They do have a...More

We just had to go to the eastern most spot in the US. We did. That is the only reason to visit in our opinion.

Not on a routine basis, but there is a special open lighthouse day when that is possible and easily searched online. Nearby on Campobello Island in Canada is East Quoddy Light. You can walk to it only during low tide... More

Arcadia to West Quoddy Head Light? (3 Replies)
Hallo, we have visited Maine years before and we are very happy to come back this summer (beginning of September). We will travelling in a motorhome. Until now we have not been north of Arcadia NP before. As big fans of lightshouses, the West Quoddy Head Light has been on our list. As we do not know the area between Arcadia and the lightshouse, we would be very much interested to know, what would be on our way up north to see and do - thinking of sightseeing in general. We can spend...More
