In the nicer weather a walk along the Providence River is a great activity. It has been renovated and there are many restaurants and a large mall adjacent, There are a number of great events during the summer including the Waterfire. A go to event.

We took a walk along the river. It was very pleasant. They were preparing for the firewater event that evening. It was quiet and clean. There are restaurants near by. We were hoping for one with a view of the river. I think they are planning to open one soon.

I enjoyed walks along the Providence River! The river is accessible across from the mall and includes a walkable path.

To walk along the river is wonderful. So clean. Wish the weather was sunny and warm. All weekend damp and cold.

The Providence River flows through downtown Providence by the State House and the mall area. There are several restaurants and bars along the river and it's nice during Waterfire to watch as the gondolas set the fires. Waterfire gets very crowded, but if you don't have to try and drive, it's actually enjoyable. It's nice to have a waterway in... More

Strolling along the Providence River provides the opportunity to see the city and enjoy the flow of the water. The walk from the capital building to the Stone Bank is especially nice.

Good place to relax, enjoy leisure walk. There is a long pedestrian road alongside the river where you can walk and enjoy city's views.

You can walk along the river in its downtown setting, or take a gondola ride. The gondolas are a feature of Waterfires that take place on many weekends, but you can reserve spots and ride them at other times, too. Your gondolier may even serenade you with song.

I enjoyed walking along the river in the evening when coming back from dinner. The town lights torches along the river which gives the water an even more special reflection on a clear evening.
