Fabulous! Our guide Fritz was amazing and full of knowledge and experience! We all enjoyed listening to him (even our 3 teenage kids) and his travels. We saw a moose, several Elk including close up (although not too close) of a beautiful Bull Elk walking in front of us in the meadow. The top of Alpine is beyond words especially at sunset which I highly recommend the evening tour but bring warm clothes! Fritz gave us great advice on which hikes to go on in the RMNP since we were only there for 2 days. Please tell him we went on all of them and survived!

This is a very good, casual tour of the main points of interest in the Rocky Mountain NP. It was our guides first time as tour leader and he was assisted by an experienced guide. The tour included stops at Alluvial Fan, Many Curves, and Bear Lake. They had blankets available for use in the open Jeep bed.
The one negative I would give the tour is that there is no padding on the cross bars on the roof of the bed of the Jeep. The main cross bar is a T-shaped iron bar. Despite frequent cautions to "watch your head," at least 3 of the 8 in our group hit the T-shaped cross bar. This is clearly a safety issue and I'm not sure why it exists. It seems that $50 of foam padding would reduce the pain of hitting your head on the cross bars.

We’d already spent 4 days in the park, including covering most of the route we did on our 3 hour trip with GJT. Lawrence solicited our input on the route and we opted for parts we’d already been on. Notwithstanding our having seen these areas, Lawrence showed us new dimensions. His wasn’t the borscht belt routine type of guiding; instead he had plenty of interesting facts, figures, and observations. There were 5 of us spanning ages 62 to 10. We were fortunate to be in a 7 passenger Jeep that was plenty comfortable and Lawrence was easy to hear; I don’t think we’d have enjoyed a larger vehicle and headphones nearly as much. Bottom line is that it was really interesting, the 3 hours was the perfect length, it was a great way to see and learn about the park, and I’d unequivocally recommend. Oh yeah, and we departed right on time, which was great.

We originally planned to just pay the $25 entrance fee and go into the park on our own. Ended up calling from the airport when we landed in Denver the morning of our trip as there were no timed entry slots left for the day. Our trip ended up being 1000 times better because of that timed entry mishap. We would have NEVER seen/known to go to the places that Fritz took us to. We've spent the entire week National Park- hopping and this tour has been the highlight of our entire trip. Keep it up, guys. You all should be considered a national treasure! ;-)

My husband and I took 2 Jeep tours with green Jeep. Both guides were excellent, taking us to the sunset to Alpine tundra ride and then sunrise Sprague lake and Bear lake were just spectacular! Guides were very knowledgeable and made the trips well worth it. We would highly recommend green Jeep!

We did the Rocky Mountain Safari and the waterfall hike tour. Enjoyed both of our tours. Spider who took us on the waterfall tour was exceptional and my teenage kids really liked her. We learned a lot of fun facts from her and suggestions for hikes and other places to visit in the park and Estes Park.

The driver took corners too fast at 12,000 ft. He also spent time on his phone looking for songs as we went around the switchbacks. I could have done without the music he was trying to get in exchange for a safe drive. He drove too fast for conditions. I might have even thought it was just me, but I happen to be traveling with my sister and her husband who is a race car driver and races on a dirt track. When it makes a race car driver uncomfortable, I think it's bad. He said the tires slipped a couple of times going around those corners. I would not recommend this company.

We had the best tour guide “Nick” he was so knowledgeable about everything on the tour from folklore to plants and wildlife. We were on a late afternoon tour along Old Fall River Road to above 12000 feet the scenery was magnificent. Since it was late in the day we watched the sunset from what seemed like the top of the world before heading back to civilization. On the way down, just after dusk, we spotted a herd of elk in a meadow. Of course during the entire trip Nick was imparting knowledge in a very humorous way and stopping to let us take pictures of nature’s beauty.

GET SAM as your guide. His wealth of information and passion for Colorado oozes out in his tour. I went with my sisters on a Girls Trip and we enjoyed his excitement which only heightened our excitement. AND we got to see a moose right before the tour ended.
He offered wonderful insight on how delicate the eco-system is, offered restaurant suggestions and offered his own experiences on hiking and the animals he ran into.
We loved the tour and I can't wait until me and my husband go back to Estes Park because I'll book a tour for us.
GREAT tour!!!!

GJT’s is awesome. The office staff was very friendly and accommodating during several phone calls. We did two tours: the Bear Lake Tour and the Rocky Mountain Safari. Luckily we had Sam for both tours. He is amazing. He knows Estes and this park like the back of his hand. He is very keen on pointing out wildlife and the many scenic places in the park. He kept us safe from some large elk that were crossing our path during a Sprague Lake hike. His tours lasted longer than expected as he strived to show off the elk during mating season and hit their hot spots. The Fall River dirt road on the safari was wonderful. He also gave detailed restaurant reviews! These tours will not disappoint, especially if you get Sam!

Where does the safari tour leave from? Where do we go to start the tour?
Written February 17, 2020

Is there enough space in the Jeep for a small, folding wheelchair?
Written July 2, 2019
Our jeeps typically accommodate up to 9 people. The easiest option would be to sit in the front passenger seat, as there are three steps leading up to the back of the jeep. Please give us a call and we'd be happy to discuss details! We hope you'll join us on a Rocky Mountain Safari Tour!

Hi, We want to take the rocky mountain experience tour upto alpine visitor center from Estes park. Since we have a 18 months old toddler andits an open jeep just would want to know about the windy and cold conditions while driving through the trail ridge road.
Written July 2, 2019
Actually the weather was surprisingly beautiful up there when we went. Down below, in Estes, it had been rainy and dreary. They also provide blankets to cover up with. I would think an 18 month old would be fine as long as he/she isn’t fussy. Hope that helps.

We will be driving through RMNP from Grand Lake the previous day, and then staying in Estes Park. Which tour(s) would you recommend if we've already spent a day on trail ridge road?
Written June 14, 2019
You can also do a off road trip into the Roosevelt National forest if you already done the Trail Ridge Road drive.

Where do the green jeep tours pick up? Can they pick up from the stanley hotel?
Written July 14, 2018
We do offer pickup for a nominal fee. The Stanley is located just over a mile away from us. The shuttles are another option to reach us!

Its 79.50 for a 3 hour tour I believe. Its listed on their website.

Is there age limits with each tour? I have a 4 and 6 year old.
Written April 13, 2018
Nope, no age limit. We brought our 8 year old and there were 4 and 5 years old on the trip as well.
Written April 14, 2018
I want to take the tour in April. Would a morning or afternoon tour be better to see wildlife? Or is there much difference?
Written March 1, 2018
Not sure about the mornings because the afternoon is the only one I have taken but we saw quite a bit. Huge groups of elk and several other things. Not to mention the sunset was spectacular.
