Our 11 year old has been interested in climbing for awhile, so we signed him up for a 3 for $20. Ritzy was an amazing instructor. She taught him how to tie the rope, instructed him with commands, encouraged him and gave him all sorts of tips. It was a great experience. I highly recommend this as a family activity to try something new.

Staff was very helpful in getting our family of four geared up for snow shoeing and sledding. The equipment rental process was very straight forward, painless, and reasonably priced. There was also a great selection of clothing and gear for purchase. You could walk in off the beach and be ready to cross country ski in 20 minutes.

We came back a couple of days later for the rock climbing walls. My daughter was fearless, but my younger son needed some encouragement. The staff was nothing but positive, enthusiastic, and instructive for both of their climbs.

Thank you for the kind words. We are glad you found our staff to be welcoming and helpful! We work hard to make gearing up painless (mentally and on the wallet), and are pleased that we were able to get you and your family what you needed to get out and explore the Rocky Mountains. In addition, we are proud to offer a fun, safe climbing experience in the climbing gym for all ages and abilities - we all love sharing our knowledge and passions with our valued customers. We sincerely hope you enjoyed your Estes experience, and look forward to helping you again soon!

We bought a disk sled and a regular sled here. The prices are reasonable and they have a great selection of items for rent. The staff is friendly and helpful. The hours were more convenient than some of the other places that didn't open until 10 on the Sunday we were there.

We were in Estes Park for the weekend and wanted to rent microspikes for some hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park. Every person we encountered in the store was kind and helpful. They outfitted us quickly and easily with quality gear that work great during our hike. We also loved the Bargain Bin area downstairs. They had an amazing selection of top quality brands are good prices.

We were in Estes Park to visit RMNP and had a spare day and decided to rent bikes with the kids. We ended up renting 3 of the E-Bikes and had a great time. The people in the rental area were great. Friendly and very helpful with all our questions, and questions, and more questions. Helped get us sized and adjusted for our ride needs with the kids. We rented for 2 hours and it was just the right amount of time. We thought the rental costs were reasonable and we had a great experience!

I went with my friends and we booked a tour with CMShop Snowshoeing - our guide was Zion. From the start all the store staff was very friendly and attentive. We went to the mountains through frozen lakes - dream lake was my favorite. Zion even let me have the beautiful experience of having a bird landing on my hand three times! I felt like Snow White. Highly recommended !

Family rental for bikes for 4 hours ($25 per bike for the 4 hours plus $3 for the lock - helmets included). Took almost an hour from the time we arrived until we actually hit the bike path - no, they were not busy. This included a delay, having to check in downstairs to pay upstairs to go back downstairs to get the bikes. Got about 500 feet and had to bring one of the bikes back due to a loose seat. No real map or direction provided. Not their fault but the bike path is kind of dull - do recommend riding by the dog part if you're a dog-lover and check out the dam. Also, do recommend renting the lock. As you approach town you can not ride so suggest locking up, grabbing a snack and continuing on. At the risk of sounding "whiny," the seats were not padded at all which made for a very uncomfortable ride and sore behinds afterwards, You would think a shop like that would put the gel/padded seats on the bikes.

We stopped here to rent snowshoes, and were extremely satisfied with the quality of their gear, the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, and their prices. Our snowshoe rentals were $6 per pair per day ($12/day for two people), and the snowshoes and poles themselves were easy to use and in good condition. I also rented snow hiking boots for $10 per day – they were also in good condition and were much cheaper than buying a new pair to use for two days. The store itself has a great selection of all types of outdoor and winter gear, and if you forgot something you can definitely find it here. They also provided some free maps on where to snowshoe in Rocky Mountain National Park for us, and were able to give us accurate information on weather and trail conditions there.

I’ll be renting snowshoes from this place again, and I will definitely recommend their services to any friends looking for equipment rentals in Estes Park.

We wanted to go on a hike in the area, but not being experienced wanted a guide. Walked in to Estes Park Mountain Shop to be met by Mike, who gave us the options and offered to take us the next day.

I can't remember the name of the route he took us on, but it was a moderately strenuous climb up to a waterfall which took 3-4 hours all told, including the drive to the trailhead from the shop.

Mike was a great guide and very knowledgeable about the local wildlife, plants and the geology of the region. A great trip, thanks Mike!

Snowshoes were only $5 and $6 with poles to rent for a day - rental process was very smooth and the staff knowledgeable and helpful, even told us "no need for renting boots today" and he was right, as we strapped the snowshoes to our hiking shoes and sneakers for this trip in February (don't forget to wear wool socks when snowshoeing!!!) The bargain basement is a gem for ladies as I scored a pair of snowpants for $35 and merrel hiking boots for $70. Lots of north face items as well. :-) Wishing you good finds as well!
